I've posted this before and still no progress. I purchased a miracle truss building consisting of just the trusses. It is a 36x42 airplane hanger. Is there anyway possible to get drawings done? People say it's exspencive to have an engineer do them, but what is expensive? I'm in this building so far for 2,000. That's including all the wood. I don't have a lot of money that's why I'm trying so hard to get this done. Just need drawings. Thanks to anyone that can hep.

I sounds like you bought used trusses manufactured by the previous corporate version of Miracle Truss.

Any competent structural engineer can analyze your trusses assuming they are in good shape.
However it sounds like you need the trusses analyzed and stamped plans for the building.

If so, start shopping for a local engineer.
Bring a quality sketch of what you want, dimensions and pics of the trusses.
They will be able to give you a firm fee. If not run.

You best price is going to be finding a engineer that works out of their home, is semi retired or such.

Going to a glitzy high rise, expect to pay more and be way at the bottom of their priority list.

I have a Miracle Truss building, the trusses are pretty conventional design. The wood purlins are the only thing thats somewhat different. I think an Engineer should have no problem coming up with the load ratings, etc. If your only in 2K so far, your still ahead. 14 years ago, my 30 X 60 kit ( trusses , roof & siding metal + doors but no wood was 13 K. I think the wood alone was $1700 back then.

I believe Miracle Truss has been out of business for some years.

I do not know what kind luck you would have getting an engineer to sign off on used trusses made buy no longer existing company.

Miracle went out of business because of some pretty serious material failures. I'm sure there are a lot of the buildings that are still up but quite a few came down. Might want to rethink using them.

Is this a building that was taken down? If so there might be drawings on file in the town or county wher it was previously.

Are you trying to get a stamp on the truss design? As in an engineering analysis of the truss?
Pretty much need to get or do drawings for this building and have them inspected revised or adjusted in order to be approved to get a building permit.

These two don't seem to go well together. Its expensive to fly and maintain a plane.
The building I had purchased was off of Craig's list. It was put up and taken down by a second party that was going to be put up until he found out he couldn't put up a steel building per code. Only wood. So he posted it and I had bought it for $1.500.00. A week later someone had posted 2x6x12's, and 2x6x16's for 400.00 bucks. Plenty enough for the building.

That's exactly what I need. I'm just not sure how much detail I need to draw. I guess every dimension of every truss as far as diameter of the webbing and angle used to make the truss? Nuts and bolts? Etc..

You wouldn't buy any chance still have your drawings just to see what I need to present? Or the anchor bolt plan?

The guy I bought it from didn't have the persons phone or address to whom he bought it from. Apparently he purchased it from a lady who's husband had died and was in great debt. So she was selling everything she could to pay all the bills. He went to the property where it stood by itself, took it down and brought it home. Just to find out he couldn't use it either.
So this is where I'm at. I love the design it'll work perfect for all my cars and projects. I've priced pole barns and that's just not an option. I don't have the money for another building and concrete. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can figure the easiest way to post them. Thanks very much it's very much appreciated.

They can get you the stamped plans.

I've tried, over and over and over. They will not help me. Because I did not buy the building from them. He had also said that my building was built by the old Miracle Truss and the plans would not work for my building. I told him I didn't care and would pay for a set of drawings anyway without the engineers stamp. And that was still a big no. Not even an anchor bolt plan. And they sell the same exact building. Same size.:willy_nil drives me crazy. (Hanger 1) in their photos.

I don't know of any " material failures" with Miracle Truss buildings. They locked in their steel prices @peak, then the bottom dropped out of steel prices. In a business as competitive as metal buildings, it saddled them with extra cost they couldn't absorb. Their buildings were already a little higher than some o their competition. I`ll look to see if I still have my drawings.

Yes every member size, length, span, thickness, angle, weld size and placement.
Good photos would help too.

That would be incredible if you could. I could send a gift card to take the wife out to dinner or something.

I've started this weekend. Taking measurements of everything. I have no clue on rebar footers concrete or anchor bolts as far as what I need and how to tie it all together. Guess I can google all of that also.

TO get the trusses analyzed and stamped, you need to do a detailed truss drawing with dimensions, wood type, etc. and pictures- especially of the joints so the engineer can see the nailing patterns. The drawing can be a hand drawing. Take these to a civil engineer (not a surveyor) in your area and tell them what you want. A buddy had to get his home built trusses stamped in MS several years ago- cost him either $1000 or $2000, I cannot remember. There are quite a few hours in drawing and analyzing these trusses.
