knipex snap ring pliers

i want new snap ring pliers, the knipex look the best made, but the pliers i have now are a 12 piece set, so how do i get all the combinations of snap ring pliers via Knipex. i see they make a 6 piece set and several 4 piece sets,

No offense but.... changeable tips, and reversible (inner/outer) snap ring pliers are the root of all evil. Regardless of brand. Lol. Those things leave a lot to be desired.

Never seen a 12 piece set from Knipex, but here's an 8 piece set. I believe this is their largest set...

I've got the Channelock 927/929. No complaints, but I dont use them everyday. I think for average Joe Homeowner they're fine...

I have the same. Worked on wheel bearings all the way to wrist pins with the interchangeable tips uses seems limitless.

The Knipex are a worthy investment. Their tapered tips make a world of difference.

As other have mentioned, Knipex has some sets, but if you want their complete range you'll need to buy individual pieces.

If you can hold out until Black Friday, I'd suggest waiting. Zoro and Kctoolco are both likely to run decent coupons at that time. You'll save a bundle if you really want the complete range.

To each his own..... I own the same pair you mentioned, and struggled with them until buying the Knipex set. Every removable tip included in my Channelock set is either slightly bent, or completely unusable. It seems impossible to get the set screws tight enought to properly hold the tips. Now I just grab the proper size Knipex and remove the snap ring. No struggling with removable tips, and tiny set screws...... and all of this on snap rings that are in good condition. Now add in some rust, corrosion, paint, or all of the above....

I agree. The KNIPEX Snap Ring pliers are forged and very nice to use. I took have had the removable tips versions and struggled with them. I don't deal with snap rings often. But when I do, I like having a tool that makes the job easy. That said, I consider this an extravagance. Frankly, I can afford to have expensive snap ring pliers that I use infrequently. I guess my justification is, I always need tools like this when I'm up against it and things aren't going well. Nice to be able to reach in that drawer and pull out some obscure tool that eliminates 20 minutes of struggling and frustration.

Just finished a wheel bearing job. Reached for more than a few obscure tools that really did make the job easier. Spent close to 4 hours doing one side with the kids. Did the other side in about 90 minutes the following evening myself. Was all about having the right tool for the job.
