Installing a sub panel in a attached garage which is finished.
I would like the feeder cable in pvc in the garage for protection than having the Romex cable stapled on the wall. However there is not much room to run pvc conduit all the way in to the main panel (in Basement) and use THHN.
Wondering if I can run (Romex Simpull E18679) SER 4/3 with #8 for ground NM-B copper cable partially with outer jacket removed where it would run thru PVC conduit? From the main panel it would have the jacket and right where it leaves the basement it would enter into the pvc conduit and the outer jacket would be removed for ease of installation. Total length is 16ft. Half of that jacket would be stripped and running thru pvc.
Can I do this? If yes do I need a bushing or is there is any way to seal the end of conduit in the basement?
Thank you
