Here's a 12" Proto Clik Stop adjustabie wrench along with some 12" Diamond Caulks, a 6" Snap On Blue Point and finally my old trusty 12" Crescent.

I bought this Proto in the '90's from Andy Anderson's used tool store in Santa Monica. At the time I thought it was old, but since then I've come to believe it's not so old.

Here are my Diamond Caulks and an S.O. Blue Point.

And finally my trusty old Crescent. The jaws are wider than on a normal adjustable wrench. I've had this wrench for forever it seems. Can't even remember when or how I got it.

I had not ever seen the green handled diamond before thanks for posting

My partner found one in the ceiling about a year and a half ago. I **** a brick two weeks ago when I seen a NOS 10" sell on the bay for $100+. He still uses that wrench almost everyday.

Now I have one too, part of the green handle club.

I didn't pay over $7 for any of the wrenches in my photos.
They still seem to be very affordable on ebay.

I've got an 8 incher D-C somewhere--probably in my truck, that didn't make the picture. Love to have one of those little 4 inchers tho.

A different coworker has a 4" that stays on his key ring. It was given to him when he started HVAC. He was inside a big rooftop package unit late one Friday afternoon catching a service call and the maintenance worker closed the door, latched it, and flipped the disconnect back on. He would have died if he didn't have his trusty diamond. I never seen him without it.

Ugh!! I've seen electrical panel main disconnects switched back on by idiots on jobsites when electricians were still at work. Believe me, they got yelled at and kicked off the job.

Such an oxymoron, common sense isn't as common as one would hope. The folks with the highest deficiency of said 'sense' seem to be working some of the most dangerous jobs.

I've been zapped by 460v as a result of my own stupidity (fingers are to stay out of the disconnect when the line is still energized *******) and it's the loudest silence I've ever heard in my life.

There normally aren't 2nd chances when you're talking about electrocution, or clean underwear. One senior tech told me something about electricity I'll never forget: "You got to respect something you can't see, son."

EDIT: Posting pics of more crescent adj later.

Gotta ask...
Anyone heard of Lockout/Tagout???
Absolutely inexcusable that anyone can turn the power back on while equipment is being serviced. Negligence. Plain and simple.

Almost 40 years ago after I went to work for the Army, we were shown some kind of general safety film. The main thing I remember from it is why a repairman should put some kind of standard safety lock on a breaker before working on that circuit. It's easy for a note or tape to fall off or somehow be ignored.

God I hate to think it's been that long ago since I saw that film.

Your Proto isn't "new" because it is the JP Danielson design, at some point Proto stopped making their own adjustables, as I've seen brand new Protos that are made by Western Forge. They still make the Clik-Stop models in the WF wrenches, as well as non Clik-Stop.

I'm sure you also know the Snap-On/Blue Point 6" you have was made by Diamond, I have a 4" version.

I brought my work tools home, so now they're all in one place. I need to get a family shot of my adjustables.

Wow, that's great to know Dave.

Nope. Didn't know that either. I bought all my old USA tools back in the '80's and '90's just because I like good, USA tools. I'm not much of a collector, but I like to have several sets of the same tool around in case I need one.

I got 1 or 2 of most of them, tested a set of HF even which 20 yrs ago were not as good as the generic China which I bought a set at a flea, set under ATD and may be Napa version etc also but in 8 and 12 is actually my choice even against the Proto and Diamond which I do have and are fine.
The jaw opens on those 1 size wider and they use a 4 turn screw which is finer. I believe a couple old USA brands open similar
