Rare Craftsman =V= 1/2" drive sockets

Picked up these rare Craftsman sockets that look to be possibly non sparking. I say rare in that I've never seen them before in a catalog, online or in person. Does anyone have any information as to what they are made of or what they are made of? They look and feel like aluminum but that is probably not what it is. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Looks like someone sandblasted the chrome off. Does a magnet stick to them?

They look like the old craftsman =V= series sockets from the 50's and 60's. I have some of them with varying degrees of finish loss. Some are super shiny and some are very dulled from use. I would bet that the ones that you have are made out of steel but it looks like the chrome finish is worn off from 50+ years of use!

I agree with the 2 fellas sandblasted, no rust in center like most of mine.

All of the =V= sockets were chromed. The chrome was removed by someone and the sockets were carefully cleaned or blasted.
