Just finished cleaning these up with some simple green, and a little time with the wire wheel. There's just something about the steel these circle H series are made of.... I'm glad they don't have a bigger following. They can still be found relatively easily, and are still very affordable.

Some people scorn use of a wire wheel but I think you did a fine job and they look great.
Did you put oil on them before brushing ?

No, the simple green dissolved all the crud that was on them, but left a whitish\gray oxidized film. All it took was a very light touch with the wire wheel to remove the oxidation, this was the end result.
