Picked up a few items in the past few days.

Grinder stand. I believe it's from an old Delta grinder. Weighs 90 pounds.
Paid $40

Congrats on those stands. Especially that old Delta stand. That has some style in its design far from the usual industrial look. Love the curved bottom and the decorative line running up the center.

Thanks rmalkow. The delta stand is the one I'll be keeping. My block grinder is going to feel right at home on it once I restore both.

Went to tool auction today that had some items I liked, however, they all went to someone else who wanted them more.

One item that I did buy while there, was a vintage table top cream separator sold by Montgomery Wards and model # HM-4607A 55X.

Stands about 12 inches high and although the handle does turn, it isn't able to turn the internal rusted gears inside. It is also missing some parts, including the bowl which would attach at the top of the dual spigots.

Although it might be able to be put back to work with some time and parts, it probably would be a better candidate for a re-purpose project, like making a light.

Although we own a large Delaval Model 12, this is my first table top that I'd found in the wild.

Mike

Got this Sunday at the local flea market for $80. Just got around to trying it out today. Works like a champ. Now to build a cart for it.

Got this compressor for 120$ off Kijiji tonight. Been looking for something decent for cheap and this is the first one that's popped up lately that fit the bill. Should do what I need for a few years before I can afford to upgrade.

70 degrees in November so I had to skin out of work early ! Stumbled into a sale and dropped a quick $100.00 bill. I ended up with 4 old Disston hand saws that are flat worn out but have some great medallions and hardware from the 1800's. Also picked up an EC Atkins one man cross cut saw that is in very nice condition.
The day wouldn't be complete with out a couple of vise's so I added a small # 30 AS that looks to have never been bolted down or used. It's dirty and rusty but still has a bit of the original paper label on it. There isn't a single hammer mark or blemish on the jaws . There is enough of the original paint remaining for a good color match so the only thing left is to find a good example of the art work to have some made in vinyl. These haven't been made since 62 so to find one in this condition is a good thing!
The last thing I scored today is a Arthur O' Leary 5" post vise . The handle is slightly bent as most post vise's are. It's not a beefy monster , 50 pounds on the dot but still has the serration on the jaw faces.

Topop, look into water decals(like for model cars and things in a hobby store), you can print a oem looking decal if you find the artwork.

Finding the original image is the hard part. The image on this vise is the first I've ever seen. I **** at computer work ...

Good pickup on the # 30 AS bench vise and the O'Leary post vise.

You draw a hard vacuum, Bagged. Nice grab on the Wilton.

Thanks. The Wilton is for parts. Unfortunately someone decided to grind half way thru the jaws and jaw towers. The base fits my Schiller park 3.5" bullet which I was expected and was hoping.
Here are all the hammers. One brass mallet in the mix.

I like that red Crafty box, Sam.

Here is my modest haul from the Early Bird this morning...

- I don't know anything about LYON, in Aurora, Ill, but they made a nice tote. I don't think it's military. I think it just happens to be a shade of wartime OD. But it's a handy size, and I love the deep offset handle!

- The classic porthole level & plumb is a WARD'S MASTER No. 84 3875-24", also marked GENUINE CHERRY.

- Other items are Snap-On S-6 extension ("G" code), a PROTO 9702 screwdriver, a Western Auto Philips No. 2 LIC. 1 (Stanley) screwdriver, a Kraeuter 1/2" double bow cutting punch, =CRAFTSMAN= and UTICA <><><> 506 waterpump pliers, and a Browne & Sharpe 633 screw pitch gage (pitches 4 to 18, 20 to 50, and 52 to 84) in its original box.

- The three (3) hand tube benders are an Imperial Brass No. 4 (1/4"), a Parker Appliance No. 4 (1/4"), and a Parker Appliance No. 6 (3/8").

Had a good time and found some great deals today on the Main to Main 50 mile long garage sale from Springhill to Minden Louisiana.

Pic 1: A vintage Craftsman plastic creeper with the same Craftsman Chevron emblem as used on the gray with red drawers tool boxes. Note the checkered flags too. Only $3!
This was one of my favorite finds of the day.

A Royal Crown Cola carton holder, $30.
A Coca Cola cooler in rough shape, no lid or sandwich tray and the backside is beaten in. $30

Pic 2 and 3. One thing I was looking for today was vises. Wasn't finding any then walked up to this little January 1946 2" baby Wilton bullet with a $25 price tag! No bargaining there, just pay the lady! I also got the 2 bolts with "loop nuts" from here for $4 more.

Paid $5 for the little locks ( 2 Guard Security Rustless and a Walsco Made in USA) , the Snap On 3/8" deep socket, the 3 Matco long allen driver sockets and the Craftsman =V= 1/4"D extension. The Crestoly 4" adjustable wrench cost me another $5.

Pic 4. I spotted the Starrett box and made a beeline for it, it held trammel points that still had the plastic packages and tip protectors as well. $2 was a no-brainer purchase.
The Schiltz mug (75 cents) and ribbed glass jar (50 cents) were picked up as well.
The box full of AN aircrafts fittings was $5, a couple of the fitting would cover that cost.

I had a good time and got other goodies as well, baked goods and fresh shelled pecans

Went to one sale today. I was about to leave bummed because the tools were well picked over and I found nothing worth buying.

Then....I spotted this Kennedy chest along a wall. Not too bad a deal for 20 bucks out the door. It's in decent shape.

Contents include some drill bits, taps, burrs, saw blades, oil, a few hand tools and other misc.

There were a few small gems in there.

There was a Bonney bit socket, Williams and Snap On power socket drivers, and a Proto Los Angeles little offset screwdriver.

I have never seen a Snap On with this end. It heard some of the tools possibly came from a factory so it could be off an assembly line.

Some random punches, a nice Wizard, chisels, Pexto rivet set and a Starrett ruler.

I'd love to find a baby bullet in the wild. They're scarce wee beasties in these parts. Good job !

There was only one listing that showed any promise for me this weekend. It was a Friday sale that started at noon. I drove all the way out there and showed up an hour after they were supposed to open. The place was a ghost town. Nothing set up, and nobody home.

Fortunately, it was near my cousin's house, so I stopped by to steal back my wheelbarrow that she had borrowed and didn't return. I don't think she even knows it's gone yet.

Bought some Chicken Fries to console myself on the drive home. (Sorry, no pictures)

I found a somewhat ratty Indestro Select 6470 Open tooth 1/2 ratchet at a local garage sale. The chrome is rough but it's a cool design.

No pic - sorry.

Hit a yard sale on Saturday.

Pic 1 & 2--Pair of Cincinnati Tool Co 12 inch clamps. Although similar, one is a #502, while other is a #508.

Pic 3 & 4--Starrett #S 831 E Small Hole Gages

Pic 5-7 was picked up today from friend, who had called on Friday when he ran into an old Reed 105 Vise at a yard sale.

Been scaling back tool hunting wise quite a bit this year, staying close to home and the sale has to really peak my interest. That being said,

Local sale, a couple of guys closing up and selling off their late dads repair shop. Lots of truck brand tools, in particular a lot of speciality tools. Surprised to see a ton of basic tools also given the guys looked like guys that got their hands dirty. They must have plenty of their own stuff.

Snap On metric box wrenches, 0 degree offset $30

2 Snap On 1/4 swivel head ratchets $15

Snap On 3/8" flex-head speeder handle ratchet $15

IMG_0069_zpsdmzt2ttd.jpg

IMG_0070_zpsiwyfcr9a.jpg

Picked up off CL from a local firearms dealer's estate.

Branson Ultrasonic cleaner, well used but works as it should. Only wish it was heated but can't complain for the price. $50

I don't normally post eBay purchases, but since I've been shut out lately here goes ......

The package arrived today to fill one of two holes I still have on my wrench wall.
A pre-SnapOn triple-line Williams 1191 2-1/16" combo wrench. (third from left)
One more and I'll have a full set all the way up to 2-1/4". :bounce:

It still needs to be cleaned, but it makes me smile just as it is. :D

Picked up off CL from a local firearms dealer's estate.

Branson Ultrasonic cleaner, well used but works as it should. Only wish it was heated but can't complain for the price. $50

Want to get 15$ back for 1 of the 1/4 rats? Thanks, PM me

jakemac,

Very nice wrench set, love those Williams. My catalogs show something like 33 or so different sizes were available. Are you saying you only need one more to complete a set of all those that were available ? If so that is really impressive. Definitely want to see photo's of the set when completed. Those bigger ones are pretty pricey on Ebay but definitely easier to justify when you are closing in on having a complete set.

Well done sir and now go and close that set out !

Okay, You ****! ,WNYflyer. Looks like I missed a good one!

Thanks 3bay,

Got there about 1.5 hours after it started and still lots of stuff there of course and only a couple of older guys rummaging around at that time. Pricing was quite good for used truck brands with some negotiating room. Sale was two towns east of me.

As usual  nice scores at the Flea, digging the stainless Craftsman ratchet and always like the Williams S-52's. I can't imagine how many of those S-52's they made, go to almost any sale with a decent amount of tools and I pretty much see at least one of those. I pick them up cheap if only for the guts.
