So I just ordered the L8112A with the L872RM handle 36", I'm kinda worried tho because another guy has an older 3/4 snap on ratchet with a 40" handle and the thing bends like a joke every time you pull on it, does anyone have this breaker bar or more importantly, this handle and care to comment on if they still do this?

I believe these have been made in 2 or 3 different diameters for the handles and attachments, the current one should be thick enough and I think is thicker than a previous setup.
(edit) Looks like O.K. both show in catalog as 15/16" diameter.

Yea it says it's 15/16" Ida, I'm not sure what the old 40" is but I wanna say maybe is the 3/4 range.

I have the older 13/16". It defiantly bends. As stated it hasn't busted. Has a lot of flex to it. I use it. But I also bought the SK xxl breaker 3/4" breaker bar last year. It's 15/16". Doesn't have as much give to it as the old Snap On. But either works good. I'm just worried about the old breaker bar head attachment breaking apart. The ratchet attachment works great. But I've just hope the pin on the breaker bar end doesn't blow apart some day.

I have sheared the pin on my 1/2" breaker bar a number of times. Snappy repairs them right on the truck a few times. Once the ears are flexed out, they start to show stress fractures and you get a whole new bar.

I haven't broken my 3/4" head but I would guess it's a similar deal. In fact I usually use the ratchet head and don't even bother w the fixed breaker.

Yea I like the breaker head because it's smaller and fits in a lot of places the ratchet won't in my line of work, not to mention how tight some of the fasteners are, probably ruin the ratchet head.

I just recently figured out that the new ones are thicker....I've had the old version handle and head for like 25 years and just bought a longer handle and ratchet head thinking all parts where interchangeable......more stuff to buy.....

That's good to hear, I mean do t get me wrong, I understand breaker bars are supposed to bend but that old snap on is just useless, every time you try to break something it feels like the bar is absorbing 50% of your effort

I forgot to clarify I was talking about the ratchets but same difference, the new one is a lot more beefier built and the handle isn't loose like the older style.
