Long story short - I got a Wick-Type Kerosene Heater for free. It looks a lot like this one:

It appears to be at least 10 years old. It has an electronic ignition thingy, but the whole unit got left to sit for many years with batteries in it with predictable results - acid-goo everywhere and sparker no-worky despite deep cleaning/de-corrosion efforts and new batteries (C-size, qty 2).
Generally the unit appears fine. I cleaned it up some and now I'm trying to fire it up just to see if it will work. Can I just light it with a long charcoal lighter?
