I don't know what he's got, but from the pictures it looks like it's going to be a fun pick.
Let us know how it goes.

Sales like that can be interesting. If it was in my area I'd be there. The spelling in the ad is hilarious.

I don't mind the spelling or the bad pictures because I see it all the time; if I was in his area I would be first in line looking it over for hidden gems.

Trouble is: a lot of those "less intelligent" people are the ones that think their stuff is gold - like the guy with the $1300. vise.

What's with these lousy pics? Sheesh, go to Best Buy and drop $65 on a new Canon/Nikon/Samsung point n' shoot or better yet $150 on a bridge camera with like a 40x zoom.

People would get way more money for their stuff if they took decent pics.

"Sale starts as soon as any one get here first come first served"

Big big mistake, He is going to hate it when the "early birds" end up pounding on his door at 0300

Yeah, It's funny, but I wouldn't mind going either.
usually when its all piled together like that, it goes cheaper,
Instead of everything all cleaned up, and making a big deal out of everything.
although, I've seen "junked up, piled together" sales items asking hi dollar.
Nice 150 sitting there, (drill press)

I would be second in line right behind you. There is good stuff there beyond what you can see in pictures.

Looks like a blue Craftsman model 100 Drill Press in the back.
I saw that too. It was not on the " lzst" but that is the press that vintage Craftsman collectors so revere. Maybe he will "zel" it.

Not Craigslist, but my older brother and I used to go to auctions from time to time, but we sort of quit going in later years. For reasons that I don't understand, sometimes people will bid more money for a used piece of equipment than what the equipment would sell for brand new. What sense does that make? I am not against paying a fair price for a piece of used equipment, but sometimes you get people who have no idea what something is worth and they bid way too much for it. It kind of spoils it for someone who is looking to buy something for a fair price. But when the bidding gets stupid high, it is certainly good for the seller. Anyway, finally, in later years, we just quit going to auctions.

Looking at some of the other houses around them, there seems to be quite the collection of vehicles in various stages of survival.

Looks like a nice neighborhood for to look for spare parts/complete vehicles if you could actually see the vehicles from the road.....

I'm calling for directions at day break
I'll let you all know what happens
You're going to be too late for anything good. The ad was up yesterday, and it said first come first served.

Why would you call for directions? Goggle the address.

CR: Don said he showed up and didn't find anything worth his time and instead of trying to pick up a few items to pay for his gas he just drove back home so he could finish a few of his projects. he mentioned this on his PARTY GARAGE thread which if you haven't seen it might make you smile even though you own more than a few cool tools and machines.

cheers

Waiting until the second day of a sale is usually a good way to waste your time.
There were good things in the original pictures, and who know what else wasn't shown.
