I started at a new garage a few weeks ago.
So naturally, I have a new Snap On rep.

The problem is... he doesn't stock Blue Point tools.
Now, mind you, I don't have but ONE Blue Point tool (45 degree pliers).
And as Murphy's Law would have it, they broke 3 weeks ago.

Since he doesn't stock Blue Point, he didn't have a replacement.
Now, 3 weeks later, I am still waiting on "special order" replacements to come in.

i would not grip on one tool, how is he on the rest of the tools.... it is hard to keep every item on hand not to mention dealing with back order or special order tools... if it does not show soon, talk to him about upgradin to a S/O version, might be easier to deal with that way...

Do you spend money with this guy, If he wants to keep getting your money he should provide somthing for you to work with after three weeks. If this is a daily use item make him aware. All of my dealers have helped me out when this was an issue. Once I broke a $40.00 dead blow hammer and was given a $90.00 one as a replacement. Not a bad trade.

Theres Blue-Point, the Snap-on's private label of Lisle and K-D specialty tools, outsourced air tools, and others which all dealers have in stock, then there's Blue-Point, hand tools of Taiwan and Spanish origin that compete with Snap-on's main line, that most dealers do not stock.

If you really need one particular tool (45 degree pliers), then why on earth are you waiting for your Snap-On guy to get it special ordered. :headscrat:headscrat

Just find another source. I don't mean to stiff your Snap-On guy. I mean have another source available for tools. It may not be Blue-Point, but is that really important? When I did that kind of work I never had just ONE source for tools. If I needed something real soon. I'd find out who had it locally and see if they could deliver, or I'd stop by on my way home from work or on the weekend to pick it up.

I bought the pliers when I lived 45 minutes away from sears. Now I am 20 minutes away from a Sears. I would just like to have tools warrantied in a timely manner. Now it has been 4 weeks, and still no replacement pliers.

Is there really such a thing as a $40 dead blow hammer? $90? That thing better give you a live blow for $90!
