Looked up the sku in the pca and result was item not found. Put it in my cart and started singing voodoo voodoo voodoo voodoo.....rang up 73.03. Why?

Had that happen to me twice on lights so far. One was almost a week before it actually hit a penny at the SCO. Checked everyday it was item not found in PCA. Did the same this week on a different light. PCA was INF, .03 at SCO Not sure whats going on.

I had a 342 kit in the overhead at a local store I was waiting to hit a penny. Then sure enough someone found it. I grabbed another penny tracklight kit out of spite.

I got a flooring deal I'm pretty happy with. Was only available at one HD near me, other stores had the same flooring but still at full price.

I was in my local HD today for the first time in a while. The MET team there is pretty good so usually I don't bother. I talked to the guy doing pricing. He said he had a whole cart of straps he was about to clearance. They are switching brands of tow and ratchet straps.

The straps are not marked down much. Did get a water hose nozzle at a good price.046878279919

Just went to my local store and they had many types of ratchet straps and bungees marked down. Ill have to keep an eye on them.

Found 3 at $43.02 and this one for a penny... only 2/10 stores are discounted around me.

These dropped to $250.03 about 2 weeks ago. I decided to wait a bit before posting to make sure anyone watching them had time to get them. I got the four they had left right after the price dropped.

I know most stores got rid of these last year, but there were 3 out of the 35 or so in my area that still had them. Two of them had them on clearance. So, if you've seen them somewhere within the last several months, there's a good chance they'll be on clearance.

Hmmm, thanks for the post I will have to check out my local HD and see if they have any in stock (website says limited quantity)... That would be a killer deal for $250!

That's what's wrong with this thread. People waiting to post deals. The old thread was much better because people were not stingy about the deals

In summary:
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

The way I see it there are three groups of people who follow this thread:
A.) Those that are willing to put in the time and effort to go out and find the deals on their own.
B.) Those that would put in the time and effort to find deals but are unable to due to time/family constraints.
C.) Those that aren't willing to put in the effort and prefer to have everything in life handed to them.

The only two groups I'm interested in helping out are Groups A and B.
While posting a deal benefits those in Group B, it also benefits those in Group C by default. Posting a deal does not benefit those in Group A because they are already watching it. The only impact it will have on them is to increase the competition for the limited amount of items in their area.

The best way I could come up with to help those in Group B while minimizing the negative impact on those in Group A was to hold off posting it for a while.

Seriously. The more you do this the more you realize you can be completely self sufficient in locating the deals. Everyone here is using the same resources and just putting in the leg work. A trip to Home Depot every weekend will put you in the know with what's going down in your regional stores. Much of this is fragmented and different regions are on diff schedules. The benefit of this thread is not just knowing what to get, but having an audience of other hunters to bounce questions off, improve tactics, get heads up on potential clearance items, and troll the leeches. If you just read this thread and expect to go into the store and score cheap items you are going to find yourself infinitely frustrated until you learn the foundation of finding stock, understanding markdown dates and schedules in your area. It will likely be a lot more wasted effort in the long run if you don't learn to fish as you are chasing down items that are likely long gone or not even marked down in your region.

Also... if you do learn those things, none of these deals will be news to you as you will see them dozens of times before they are worth buying.

It's kinda ironic to those complaining about people seeing deals and not giving anything in return, considering this is a public forum. You can't publicly post deals and then complain about people using them, that's just stupid.

Not sure what group I'm in . . . and quite frankly could care less.
Just keep posting your wins (of course after you've clean out every store in the country) cause I love seeing someone get a steal of a deal

Is going to the store the best way to find the deals? I thought this was a online kind of game

The only thing you can do online is learn and be spoon feed deals. Someone needs to go to the store for that info to appear here.

Ever since the old thread died, the invitation only HD Deals group is the place to be.

Well some mods didn't want stuff posted so now people won't even post non voodoo deals & the guys that did a lot of heavy lifting have left.
