Love it! Please put up as many pics as possible. I know your busy doing the work but a lot of us are very curious. Thanks in advance!

STANG302 - that is a legit car - google Lamborghini gallardo turbo kit - you can see the same frame from most of Underground or Heffner's turbo cars.

Whats the story on the latest project?
Looks more like a Kit Car of some kind.
As I highly doubt a Real Lambo frame would look like that.

STANG302,

Its the real deal sir. But I agree 100% with you thinking that the frame looks odd. I have been around a lot of industrial equipment and once you get the skin off a Lambo its interesting to see how industrial everything is. It doesn't have near the mass produced stamped feel of everything else that I have worked on. Also the durability of everything is just insane.....if feels incredibly overbuilt. I am very anxious to drive it and see how this style of manufacturing translates to driver experience.

Ill keep pics coming as I get further into the build.

One of my good friends picked up the new Porsche Cayman....handling is just nuts

I like dogs and LOVE pitbulls. I was looking at a house to buy and found this guy out back. His owners had basically abandoned him....so I got a hold of them and become a foster home for him until I could find a forever home. He got to live in my shop and guard everything. Funny part is he only pissed on one thing....those awful yellow rims :)

122.JPG

I had been considering buying a larger box to consolidate some of my storage and found a great deal on this Snap on box. Pics don't do it justice....this thing is massive. New KRL1023.

Where did you find the KRL1023?!?
That is the exact model I want.

Craigslist believe it or not. I had been trying to find a "professional" box for awhile but wasn't in a hurry and was patient for the right deal.

The guy had it listed as a KRL7023 and I loaded it up and never really checked because they look so similar and I am far from a Snap On guru so I couldn't just eyeball it and tell.

Got home and was pleasantly surprised. Thought about selling it but I have so little in it that ill prob just hang on to it. Should last me for a very long time.

If you want to see one in person just let me know and you can swing by.

How are the Z's?

Z progress is very slow, but going.
1 step forward and 2 steps back seems to occur too often when you change as many things as we have.
Been waiting a week on steering conversion parts from Bernie as the GTX inlet pipes are a no go with the 4 wheel steering pump.

Picked up some new tools (well new to me). I LOVE these wrenches.

Also, if you haven't tried Big Mule wipes your missing out. These are all I use to clean stuff now in the shop....tools, cabinets, my hands everything.

Justin and I took the Z's out to get mexican and met up with our buddy who has a really clean 600HP GTR

Several months back I ended up finding an estate sale on guns....was in my NSX and bought so many I almost couldn't get them home lol

New shop table comes in handy for all sorts of things

Wow. KRL, Lambo, GTR, NSX, table of guns, rocket launcher all in thread. For some reason my attached 2 car slowly being taken over by toddler toys doesn't get as much interest!

Hahaha, I can empathize with you on that!! My hardwiring of some new LED shop lights being the only thing of note that I've done to my garage over the last month or so pretty much pales in comparison to everything else going on...especially with this thread.

Evidently, I need to get my **** together and kick it up a notch. :willy_nil

No kidding, nice find on the guns. Are you thinking of keeping the dog? Looks like he's pretty cozy there.

The dog sleeping on me in the picture is my dog, Halo. I have had him for over 2 years now and he is just spoiled rotten.

The other dogs name is Indy, who is also a blue pit. He got a forever home last weekend and his owners are incredible nice people. They have kids that love him and some other dogs to play with and he is indoors 24/7 now and very well taken care of.

I was starting to get really attached to him too....but I can't keep them all and plan to continue being a foster and finding great homes for Pitbulls in need.

Here is Indy at his new home...not exactly roughing it :)

Isn't that the truth. Car builds can be so frustrating.

I converted my Z to NA PS and ditched the HICAS. Zero regrets.

Very anxious to see what you think of the GTX's and will prob have to head up to Georgetown when its done. Thats the next mod for my Z but I just don't feel like pulling the engine right now.

Madhatter10-6, love the garage, the cars and the new tool box. Kudos for fostering Indy. I think they foster us until they decide who to adopt.

I read your whole thread and it's nice to see someone doing nice quality work to not only their rides but to their shop.

I have to ask about your lift. Obviously you can only get the cars so far off the ground, so what exactly can you do with the cars that high?

I'm into ford lightning pickups like your into Supras.

My ceiling in my garage is only 10' tall (then lights so you loose 4"-5" more) and I have a full size truck so it hits the ceiling before a car. I've debated whether a lift like yours was worth getting for me. I'm not sure if two posts mounted in the middle of the garage (in the way) is something I'd be ok with to only gain 4' of lift.

This was before I filled it with junk.

Glad to see my wife and I aren't the only dog crazy people on here! Only a year in we're on foster number 20 something. It is really fun to have so many different dogs (personalities, breed mixes, ages & sizes) and getting them into loving families. Saying goodbye never gets any easier.

This is our current foster, Hampton Tucker. (No I don't come up with their names, they come from their shelters/fosters in Arkansas.)

Jamie V,

Thanks! I have put a lot of time / money into all of this.

At least for what I work on the lift has proven to extremely valuable. I wrenched for 7 years without one and never really knew what I was missing.

Even though it doesn't go to full height for what I do I haven't noticed any real disadvantages. I put in a lower setting for doing engine work and routine maintenance under the car which is probably what I use the most. Its so convenient when doing basic work not to have to jack the car up and place jack stands and is also a lot safer.

With your truck (which looks really cool) I am not sure how much actual lift you will get. Measure everything out and see how far off the ground you can get it.

Again for what I do 100% worth it.

Hope this helped!

MH: so is the rocket launcher and machine guns just to add a bit of security to protect that 1000 HP Lambo? :D

we lost our last dog in 2008 and sadly to say we haven't been able to replace her yet. we have adopted a couple cats the last one was a 4 year old tourtise shell calico from a NO KILL shelter and she's got TORTI "TUDE", but a great roomate.

nice save and placement of the pit bull you rescued.

looking forward to seeing your Lambo project, but i know you are busy so whenever you get time is OK BY ME.

cheers and HOLIDAY GREETINGS

Jaime: i don't know if you can gain much space by changing the roof structure in your AWESOME garage, but check out WOODY'S thread where he raised his small garage's roof so he could put in a MAX JAX lift similar to what MH owns.

good luck

drivesitfar,

Yes sir....never too much security :)

Sorry to hear about your dog....I cant even imagine loosing mine. I am fortunate enough to get to work from home most days so he is constantly by my side. Then at night he hogs the entire bed....couldn't imagine being without him.

Awesome that you rescued the cat!

I should have some Lambo updates pretty soon. The game plan is to get the engine up on a stand soon and finish tearing it down so it can head to the machine shop.

I on have a 4/12 pitch roof and there is ductwork and exhaust system up there so no go for me.

I wasn't sure if it was worth the obstacles (lift posts in the way) for only getting the vehicle 3'-4' off the ground.

I'm going to get a hard number to see how much room I can get under there and if I can sit on a creeper seat under there it might be worth it.

I am jealous of your life!

I cannot believe you made that garage/shop look like that. Great vision!

You HAVE to give us the back story on the Lambo. It's a fairly recent car and to have someone make a basketcase out of it.........that's not normal or common. You mentioned heads so perhaps the motor was killed in advance?

Madhatter - I love the shop. The tile looks awesome. Not a bad collection of cars either.

I see Madhatter already replied but thought I might be able to give you a bit more insight on the MaxJax. I wrote up a mini review of mine. Click here. I only had a 8' ceiling and was able to use lift extensions on my Cutlass. I think you would be able to work on your trucks with a 10' ceiling.
