Toy Shed Fun House Build 24x24 Detached Garage

I had an old garage, no pictures handy but it was small, old and dismal.
I got a permit from the city and was allowed to build a 24x24x16 garage!

Only sad thing is I lost almost all of the backyard for this, I guess the upside is almost no lawn mowing now.

I started in the middle of May and am ALMOST done. Stupid winter has come along and cut the days short or made the weather crappy. I just need to finish the upper part of siding and the soffits.

I've never built anything and only had people come assist with the concrete pouring and assistance with lifting the walls and trusses up into position.
Was fun, learned a few things if I had to do this ever again.
Biggest lesson learned: Pay the pros to do the concrete. Especially the floor.

Here are a few pics of the shenanigans along the way.

The concrete surface came out kinda crappy. It's not smooth by all means. It has little dips all over but is mostly level. The rough surface was ground down for the epoxy so it's not as bad.
I messed up and forgot about the headers completely and did not build the frame accounting for that and had to fix it after the walls were put up.
But I'm almost done! Then to work on the inside.

Friends came up with a theory that we can also make one of the interior wall panels detachable and to put it on the 2 post lift and pick it up like a table and play ping pong on it.

Looks like great use of your footprint! The original floor finish is *very* rough imo. Someone was very inexperienced or half-drunk (!!) or they forgot the bull float that day.. But good to have it ground down.

Are you going to go full insulation + heat?

Well that's cuz we were ill equipped and we didn't know what the hell we were doing.
I come from an IT background and tried to learn as much as I could through YouTube. But with concrete there wasn't a 'practice round'.
The concrete was done with a bunch of friends and family and none of us did it before.

Thats why the lesson learned was to hire a pro. It sucked to work with and it came out subpar.

Will do insulation and AC. Heat will depend on how cold it actually gets inside. I've been working on workbenches and stuff inside with the door closed while it's like 20 degrees outside and it was ok. Worked even better when I parked my warm car inside and popped the hood open to get heat from the block.

I got to continue building my miter station. The lift is a good addition to wood working too.

At this point I found my floor is uneven by about 1 inch as I had to him the left lift pads with two half inch plywood boards to level out my base of the station.
The left pole sits lower. Explained why I thought my car was crooked on the lift.
