I got some real goodies from kunkernator!

Ok, I missed one... this sign was in a sleeve tucked inside the box and didn't come out when I slid the rest of the contents out. kunkernator sent a PM telling me to check the box again... thank you!

attachment.php

Earlier this year my wife and I honeymooned in Europe, and seeing these signs made me very happy, especially considering our rental car was a peppy little M-B roadster. Thank you very much!

My GJ Secret Santa was gungatim, he did the research and found I like vintage stuff, he did well! Sent me some goodies, including 5 Plomb wrenches (3 of which I had not had yet in my collection), a green S-K screwdriver, some vintage DOEs, a complete Allen wrench set (I'm always losing those!), a socket set with some classic Indestro sockets, and a few other older pieces as well. Very nicely done, gungatim, and Merry Christmas!

My recipient, Benw455, has not logged in for some time, has not said he received his package, nor has he posted his toys for all to see. Not sure what I can do other than patiently wait. :dunno:

ugh! went to post my pic and I accidently deleted it when I sent it to some buds over the weekend to brag.... promise I will take another and post it back here.

anyway, thanks to my SS, whoever you are!

scored a pair of gearwrench ratchets in 1/2 and 3/8" drive! (already used the 1/2" to install 5 new wheel studs that snapped on a buddys car on the side of the road changing a flat). first experience with GW ratchets and I am impressed.

also a pair of Craftsman screwdrivers with rubber handles--never saw that style before. will be a nice addition to my "good" screwdriver drawer.

And finally a nice craftsman led pocket light. super bright and handy.

Thanks to the guys who put this together, you did an awesome job!

can't wait until next year!!

I will be headed to the mailbox again today, although we had freezing rain and everything is a total mess on the roads. It will be a treat to open since I am on my own at the lake as Mrs Outlander is working !

My secret Santa sent something a little different and I dig it.
8a21787d7fe76a6f8bd32422e73326e5.jpg

It's a clock they made out of a used Ross forged aluminum piston. Very creative. Thank you so much for the gift. I'll probably hang it right over my box. I also received a tube each of red and blue Loctite which will come in useful for sure. Thanks again, to everyone who made this possible!

You're welcome, and I'm very glad it appeared to arrive in good condition. I was concerned you would open the box with numbers all off and the arms a twisted mess. It's a fine line of how much adhesive to keep the numbers on, without so much that it squeezes out the sides. Trying to ship these clocks safely is always a puzzle. Thanks to everyone who organized the exchange and for everyone who participates for doing really great work.

It was a pleasure. I don't know much about motorcycles so it was hard but I actually came across your builds on another forum. That internet gateway should be compatible with both of your openers and your Nest thermostat. What a thermostat and a garage door opener have to talk about, I don't know, but evidently such a thing exists. I hope you find it useful.

My secret santa killed it! I am not able to get pics right now due to travel. But Rory Bellows sent me alot of us made tools, a sheet metal crimper and a sheet metal hand break(i think thats what it is atleast), along with hammers a small oil can that is awesome. There were some tiny cutters and needle nose that will be super useful. I can't wait to try and bend some metal and see what I can make! He also sent me some Nicholson files and file handle to hold them. I really cant wait to get to use them. Also a gorgeous snapon speeder handle!

Thank you so much Rory, you killed it sir.

My SS who remains unknown to me really must be psychic.
I have had this particular Kershaw pocket knife that has a Snap On logo on the wood part of the knife in my pocket every day for the last 28 years. The Snap On logo and most of the wood has been worn down to the point of being almost gone from spending years in my pocket, and theres not much left of the blade from years of sharpening.

I have been looking on and off over the past 2 years on eBay for the exact same knife to replace my worn out Kershaw Whiskey gap pocket knife, but have never been able to find one.

I was totally blown away when I opened the package from my SS to find a new Snap On labeled Kershaw Whiskey gap pocket knife along with an infomation sheet about it. I didn't know that it was a limited edition knife for Snap On's 70th anniversary (maybe that's why I couldn't find a replacement for my worn our knife).

All I can say is thank you very much to my SS in CA. who ever you are.

Hi All!

Nearly 75% of the people involved have shown off their SS gifts! GREAT JOB! For those that have not yet, please keep them coming!

We are also trying to get closure with a few people to verify they received their SS gift, and a gentle reminder that part of GJSS is to post your loot! xmas

The following people have not posted receipt of a package or their loot, so no clue if it went missing, as the SS's HAVE reported shipping the gifts!

Hopefully it's merely slow/delayed shipping, or that, as is common this time of year, that you have been busy! (travel visiting guests, etc...):

1dwn5up
Al Bundy
Gareth68
Krokodil < South Africa, so may be a customs delay
ohmthis
Outlander < North of the border, so may be a customs delay
PugetDude
rsanter

PECVD2 < has an overseas SS, so that may also be the delay.
PECVD2's SS has reported it was shipped!

For these (4) - Now 3 - recipients we have sent a PM to their SS to verify if they have shipped:

anndel
Corndoggeh
uniballer

Hopefully this will all get sorted out and the "G" word won't be invoked this year...

Duker got me one of his wonderful cutting boards.

Also received a nice Holley carb that will be either on a falcon or an 81 Mustang coupe!

Also discovered that Uniballers gift was not sent along with a few others due to me being dumb when switching daily drivers...will get it out ASAP.

Finally arrived home to my waiting GJSS gift package. Here it is (nicely wrapped, by the way!) under the tree, for just a moment before I tore into it.

62ceb037d241d326ba2e156e15ead2ec.jpg

What a thoughtful set of gifts, including a nice letter explaining each item! My SS, senlow, spent some time perusing the DBE thread and came up with two wrenches to extend my collection, a big Bluepoint XD-3032 13/16"x1" with a 1939 date code (!) and a nice copper-beryllium by Ampco, W-3150 AB, 9/16" x 5/8", complete with the requisite "don't-polish" warning. I like the fact that the Bluepoint came from a second hand store in Denver that's been in business since 1946! These were my favorites of the whole package!! :-D

7c3c38bac46fb165ef87ce99758572c2.jpg

Also included were a pair of Western Forge clutch-head screwdrivers (don't have any of these) and a pair of shirt-pocket-sized Snap-on and Western Forge flat-blades.

a82cec5623db207010828341651b7093.jpg

Finally, a cool, heavy duty Kobalt bottle opener for my garage beer fridge and a 2-year supply of razor blades, which might turn into a 10-year supply at the rate I use them.

senlow--thanks a bunch!! This GJSS thing has been a lot of fun, and I'll definitely do it again next year. Also, a big thank you to GJ Santa and all of the elves that helped run the show! Merry Christmas, every one!

Sorry I'm late guys! I work for UPS and this time of the year is CRAZY!!! Todd.Brock was my secret Santa this year. I received some Tillman tig gloves that couldn't have fit any better if I made them myself, a machinist rule, and an automatic center punch. I will edit this later to include pictures. Todd informed me that there was a screw up and the center punch was missing, but being sent back out to me. I am so thankful for my gifts. I plan on using them very soon. I'm building. A rear seat for my wife's golf cart. They will be very useful on any future project too. Thank you Todd!!!!!! Thanks to those who put this together this year!!! This is my fourth year and I can't wait for next year!

A big thank you to my SS Ohmthis!

He did a good job stalking, with some new and some old!

A vintage Dunlap Boxed Socket set, and a Dunlap Pipe wrench for the old, and a new Stanley Power lock tape measure, and a New LED Maglight flashlight (with batteries)

I especially like that the Maglight people managed to keep the beam focusl even with the LED bulb!

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks again! xmas

I'm glad you liked your gift. I thought the flashlight would be very handy on some of your camping/hunting trips. Who has too many tape measure??? I know I seem to always need more. As for the old, those were my great uncles. He passed several years ago and I got most of his tools. He wasn't very handy, but had some cool tools. Enjoy all of your gifts and a very Merry Christmas!

I was able to rescue my package from the post office today. I'd just missed it (notice left on door) before heading off over the river and through the woods.

Many thanks to KSB for the fantastic assortment from Canada. We ended up exchanging gifts with each other this year.

He really hit it out of the park including an awesome gray tools ratchet, gray tools history book, work socks, gloves, screwdriver bits, a screwdriver, stickers (love the Michelin one!), a polishing cloth, a usb thumb drive, and even a coffee cup!

If you're ever in Wisconsin drop me a line. I couldn't figure out how to ship the local brew to Canada.

Sorry for the late posting. I am a contract mail driver for the U.S Postal service and it has been a busy week. And to top it all off I had a tree crash into my van and spent most of yesterday in the Hospital.

This year my SS was DuctTapeMan. And boy did he surprise me. The box was huge and contained all American Made Tools.
The first thing out of the box was a Vaughn Framing hammer that will come in handy finishing out the upstairs of my garage. That was followed my another Vaughn hammer but this time it was a ball pein. Next out of the box was a set of Stanley screw drivers. I once again reached in the box and the next thing I unwrapped was a set of Channel Locks. Then came the MagLight LED flashlight, speed square, and a Fatmax tape measure. I then reached in again!!! And pulled out a red tool box and it was heavy. It was filled to the rim. There was a Harley Orange Zippo, a Stanley utility knife with extra blades, a set of Vaughn pry bars, a black Sharpie, a nail setter kit,a level, enough carpenter pencils to start my own business. A sliding T Bevel that will be put to work soon and a set of punches. And I am sure I am forgetting a lot of things. Remember I was in a wreck yesterday and hit in the head : )

Thank You so much for the great Christmas gift. My family had a great time watching me unwrap everything. They were as amazed as I was.

Now time for pics!!!!

I'm glad you got it!! I apologize that it did not arrive before you left for the holidays. I had ordered a ratchet for you but my dealer couldn't supply right away, lost a few days getting the package ready.

Enjoy!! I enjoyed "stalking" your posts and shopping for items you could use and appreciate.

I have not been to WI in years and never to the Milwaukee area. Have always wanted to see the are. Likewise, if you ever get up to this are drop me a message.

I love the knife, I can even tell it's in my pocket. It is so light.

Glad I could get you something you actually could use. The chisel drivers were the best route to go i thought. And the knipex were the not too small not too big size. Merry Christmas from dodge610.

Just got back from Massachusetts visiting wife's family.
I opened my G.J.S.S. Christmas Eve and was on the road before dawn Christmas morning so I was not able to jump on this thread until now.

20161224_114005_zpsvtuejg9t.jpg

My secret Santa did a FANTASTIC job !!!!!!!!!!!!

He hit all the things I like.

Anything with a yellow smiley face will make me giggle. I love it.
The sign is actually a write board. It is hanging on the fridge for "family announcements"
I don't know what to make of the emoticon ball, but it is cool nonetheless.

I collect vintage milk bottles. Both of these are kinda neat. Both are early 50's, and in decent condition. Neither of which do I currently have so they will go GREAT in the collection.

Lastly, that thing in the front there is WAY cool. I am pretty sure it will see a good bit of use. It is for pinching hose clamps in very tight areas.
See, the ends are bent in an L, you crank on the knob and it closes the ends.
WAY cool.

So, to my secret Santa. Job well done, thank you. All the gifts are well appreciated.
Thanks.
