I can tell you how many times I was needed some in the N/E US, in various areas

(with in reason... I have a 3500 lb trailer.)

Sounds like a good plan, in theory. I would be willing to participate. Someone shipped a wrench they found at a pawnshop for me. Worked great!

i would be willing w/ in reason of course. area closest to me is the "inland empire" for southern california.

Now the real question ... who get priority of the item? first one to spot it? local person? There would have to be some sort of rules set up for this to work.

kona,

Would you pick something up from Katy for me? It's a tool box... seller says I'd have to set up my own shipping. Obviously I'd be paying. It would be shipped to MO.

Please don't hold my current post count against me. I am an upstanding member of society.

I am in the north houston/Conroe area if anybody needs anything.

I just picked up a lift from a guy that was selling a 3 bank snap on box. It had the full top and bottom, yellow. Still looked new and still had the stickers on it. He wanted $5000

Great idea, but there isn't a good way to do this right now. I thought about this, and in the next month or two, I will volunteer my time and experience in making a website that we can register on. You can register on the site, enter your zip code, your email, and your garagejournal username.

Other people that are registered that need assistance can enter a zip code, and a search radius, and it will return the garage journal usernames of those that are near.

Does that sound like a good implementation of this idea, or would I be wasting my time?

that sounds like a great idea.

maybe include a user profile. this way we know what that member can and cannot transport or willing to pick-up/ship. ability to add some cross references such as ebay user name or other forums to show that the member has a good reputation.

ability to add some feedback for the members?
