I'm on youtube looking at videos and see that this guy had the follow below. So I took a screen shot of it and figured someone might know where to find these.

The packaging appears to say REX? Not sure since he didn't show the entire thing... What you see is how he captured it via his video.

I've been looking for this type of set for a while with ZERO luck anywhere.

Does anyone know of his brand of if that is the brand name or where one can source them? Ideally that kit exactly.

Edit: I also am not sure if these are considered "picks", everytime I search that it's coming up as small tools or dental type tools which would break for what I want to use these for.

Thanks,
-Nigel

Ikea...? Not sure where you are seeing an extra 4th letter there...lol
I've checked HF and others. They aren't the same. I have SO picks with handles but those are more for radiator hoses. The above is smaller length wise but still thick that can pry out an sleeve in a caliper..etc.

The company looks to be based in the Netherlands

http://rextools.nl/nl/index.html

That's definitely the same logo.

edit: I went through all of the pages under the "producten" heading and that hook and pick set or anything like it does not seem to be among the products listed.

I also searched ebay.nl for a pick set and didn't find one like that among all those listed there.

Perhaps knowing the company & its location and/or one of our GJ friends on that side of the pond will help you narrow down the search more. Good luck.

Awesome!

Excellent find. I am emailing them with the picture to see if they still make them and or if there is a way to ship some to the states. I'll update once I find out more info... hopefully they email me back.

My friends who live in Netherlands are almost local to this place, maps tells me one (in Voorburg) is about 20km, and one (in Berkel en Rodenjris) is about 25km!
I'll keep a watch on this post to see whether you get a reply from the company before I send them off on an adventure to get some for you!

Here's a larger picture, which leads me to believe these are just rebranded Chinese junk. I'm sure you can get nice double ended picks somewhere on this continent, but if you must have these, good luck!

There is absolutely nothing in the Rex catalog, other than various drill bits and hole saw items.

Also, that Ludowici seems to be the ONLY company offering the picks in op photo. Marc

That would be great... maybe he can find out?

I saw a very similar set today in HF. No idea on quality.

Not the same, I've had the ones from HF.. they are thin/bend. The ones in the Rex packaging look like the thickness of the SO ones I have.

Not sure if those are it exactly only because if you look at the finger grips it appears on the REX they have finger indentations where the ones in the picture look like a solid tube with just lines on them. Also the chinese ones have slightly different shapes/curves to the picks compared to the other ones. IE: The shapes aren't the same.

If we can't find the Rex ones does someone know of good quality double ended picks?

You might try an outdoor sporting store. Go to the weapon area and look for a weapon cleaning kit or individual tools. Pawn shops always have a wide variety of tools

Why not use the Grace set from Brownells. For heavy duty work I'd think the wood handles would be nice.

ARG!

This is the reply I got back from them. So it appears the theory was correct about using their sleeve.

"Hi Nigel,
Thank you for your e-mail.
Unfortunately we cannot help you:
We pack our drillbits in the plastic wallets/sleeves like the one on your picture.
So someone is using this sleeve with our brandname to store his special tools.
Sorry, we only sell drillbits

Best regards,

Chris van den Doren

Complete donk status here... I started looking down stairs in my modding room and sure enough I found blue point pick set.. I'm almost 100% positive I bought it from someone on here year ago but never needed them until I was tearing my brembos apart..go figure.

Quality is good. :)

The handles look the same to me.....it looks like the reflection on the plastic REX package makes it appear to have "finger indentations".
Enlarge your picture and you'll notice the finger indentations are not consistent and you can see clearly that one of them appears to have no finger indentations at all, but looks the same as the China made ones Advan posted.....

.....Also, the shape of the ends look alike too! :eyecrazy:
