Was thinking about picking up this kit from rapidaid

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CZ7GTLU/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Uses pex al pex and a combination of brass and aluminum fittings. Some people have had issues with leaking and the fix is using a different kind of thread sealant or a combination of pipe dope and tape.

100ft of pex al pex looks to be about 100$ wherever I look, but I can't find a company that sells the distribution blocks or pex al pex to pipe threads for the distribution blocks.

For guys that custom made there kit where did you go for your hose and fittings?

If you do go with rapid air, search around because they have so many different combinations of kits. I ended up buying WAY too much. In fact, I'll probably post it up here if it doesn't sell locally.

I installed Rapidair's 3/4 system and really like it. It's actually $10 cheaper than the 1/2" kit, but doesn't come with some of the fittings like the elbows and compressor manifold kit.

How was bending the 3/4 pex al pex? Did you use a conduit tubing bender?

It's pretty easily bent by hand. Most of my time was spent bending it straight when uncoiling it. I ended up using corner elbows at each corner. I only intentionally bent it in a couple spots, like coming from the output of my regulator and going vertical into the loop I ran.

Check out Global Industrial..kit is about $120 there and shipping wasn't bad.....they also have all the additional parts for real good prices....once I did the math the kit was about the same price as trying to piece together the PEX-AL-PEX system....

After I threw a few extra t's and outlets in the mix the Amazon/Northern Tool's 3/4" Rapid Air kit was significantly more and I don't need the extra flow.....

Don't know where you live but northern tool carries rapid air. Would be easier to return something if you needed to.

Amazon is $502. Global is $119 for the same kit. That is about $380 saved.

Links? I am in the process of installing a Rapidair system purchased last year through Amazon and definitely found them the cheapest at the time. This doesn't seem right but am interested in seeing what you are looking at.

Edit: here's the Amazon M3800 kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CZ7GTLU/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485050833&sr=8-1-fkmr1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=m3800+rapid+air which was linked above - it's currently $163. Global is currently $120, or 137 including shipping to my zip. Cheaper but only $26.

(Note - I used the fastpipe system, not this kit).

I'm in the process of doing a DIY install of PAP now. Bought the tubing from Amazon of all places. Where I ran into problems was sourcing fittings. I didn't want to plonk down a load of cash on a crimper so went after it using compression fittings.....very hard to find some of what I wanted (ie. 3/4 x 3/4 x 1/2 Tee's) at a somewhat reasonable price. The rapidair kits are a good value unless you have to buy additional fittings from them...that's where they get ye. So far, I've been impressed with the material and it hasn't been all that hard to work with. Although, trying to manipulate a 25' stick of it through my ceiling joists alone was nearly an exercise in futility. The stuff does straighten out but tends to want to go back to it's original coiled shape (not nearly as bad as regular Pex). I also found 1/2" EMT clamps work great on the 1/2 line and 1" EMT work on the 3/4" PAP. I'm still in the install stage so can't comment on how well it is working/not working.
Cheers.
