I KNOW that a 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor GSAF1E was stolen off my truck today. It was taken off of a set of adaptors. I have purposely made sure that all of my sets on display have been complete on the new truck. I am 99% sure that I know which stop the item was taken at. I will be limiting the number of customers on the truck at that stop in the future. I have also moved the adaptors to a magnet behind my "desk" so that I will have to hand them to a customer in the future. Surveillance cameras are going to be in the budget in the near future.:mad::mad:

I hate a thief. I can understand and even simpathise with someone who steels to eat or feed his family, but when someone steels simply because they can, I have no tolerance. Work for what you want and buy it like everyone else with any common shed of desency!

chad the open carry law is trying to change. well most of us Texans want it to change.
I would carry my xd 9mm if i didnt have to go to Fort Hood at any moment. ALso the other two govt facilities that I go to might frown upon me carrying a gun...
I haven't needed it yet. knock on wood.

You can get cheap motion sensative cameras at HF that you should be able to set up to a lap top to record. I'd hook that up, go to the shop and bate those bastards. Act like you didn't even notice the thing missing, become the prototypical victim and let that ******* do it again. Then drag his *** into the bosses office, show him and the Police your recording and sign a complaint against him for theft. That way not only does he get fired, but he can try to find a way to pay his fines without a job.

Man, that sure *****. Always figured you guys find stuff missing time to time.
I've had the same SO dealer for 5 years at 2 different jobs in Missouri AND Illinois. We get along real well, and I once joked with him that i was going to swipe something when he had his back turned and that i would gladly pay for it if he could tell me what was missing in under 1/2 hour. He got a good laugh out of it, because he knew i was joking, and he also has my CC# on file(he get's paid weekly whether he sees me or not) & threatened to charge me for the most expensive thing he could think of.

I would think it's even more possible. How tough would it be to quickly slide something into one's pocket? Seems like it would less noticeable in a smaller space.

How many people are allowed to browse on your truck at any one time?

Are they still running the x-ray truck at that one entrance to Ft. Hood?

With the desk area on the new truck, I now have an area that I feel comfortable mounting a hidden pistol. I just need to find a mount that I like. I will still carry concealed (or open if the law changes).

To those that are wondering. Yes, I have been robbed. I am just putting the odds more in my favor if an adverse situation occurs.

This is America Chad, you should never have to explain to anyone why you wish to exercise your 2nd amendment right, none the less your right to protect yourself and your property.

You are preaching to the choir but you know there are always the one that say "Just do what they say and you will not get hurt".

***** to have something stolen, but maybe the best way to handle it is the next time you stop at the suspected shop before anybody gets on the truck, talk to the manager in private.

It's a shady operation to begin with. I am not going to involve them. I will limit the number of people on the truck in the future. I will not be shy in telling them why the change in policy.

Screw me once, shame on you.
Screw me twice, shame on me.

Are the cameras going to be visible or hidden?

I would think that some of your customers might get offended if they see cameras staring at them.......

Doesn't Texas allow you to be armed "in your place of business"?

Hell, even California allows it...

I can open carry in my truck if I want to. The problem is that I am getting in and out of my truck numerous times during the day. I am not going to go thru the trouble of disarming every time I step outside of my truck. I can carry concealed everywhere I go. My reason for wanting to open carry is that someone would have to have some serious BALLS to shoplift less than 6 feet away from someone carrying a gun on their hip.

Almost all retail establishments are loaded with cameras. Ever look up in Walfart? As a customer, a business owner openly carrying would not bother me, but I suspect it might bother some (honest) folks.

Heck, I have know guys that would have the balls to take your gun off your hip, and shoot you with it, easier than you might think. A concealed weapon nearby is often just as, if not more helpful. You couldn't really shoot someone for petty theft anyhow, until he walks off the truck, the rights are on the perps side.

Real sorry you were ripped off though, I have seen the same junk with other dealers, some jackass pockets something when the dealer is busy, a real shame. Keep all the loose separates in a drawer. My Cornwell dealer has them in drawers under his desk/pc.

Weed out the crusty customers, you can usually tell the guys that will steal. I for one don't 'finger" things up on a dealers truck unless I really intend to buy. Good luck......................some thieves are stupid, maybe he will try to warranty it LOL, then you can really get in the guy's face.

Secure box right by the door ;)

Which door? There are 2 doors that I can exit from this truck when I dirve up. Beleive me, I have thought thru the possibilities. I will continue to carry concealed and possibly have hidden firearm(s) inside the truck. When the law allow open carry I will do so.

A shoplifter is not a robber. I agree with that 100%. I bring up carrying a weapon as a physcological deterrent only. I have carried concealed for almost 4 years and have never has a situation where I have revealed my weapon. My longtime customers know the story of when I was robbed and I have never denied that I have a gun on me or on the truck. I usually answer that I have several if I am asked.

I'm on your side on this one, I'm just saying, even most cops will tell you, there is a close quarter risk of having your firearm on your hip. In reality you can't get away with shooting anyone, unless, they are in your home, and threatening your life, etc....otherwise the honest shooter goes to the slammer. I have seen it happen. The tool truck in a lot of states has the same rules as a retail store, the perp has too many rights, the truck is not ones personal vehicle. Most guys 99% won't steal from you, look out for the "glazed donuts". But keep in mind, the real ruthless guys, you might need a gun for, would go for it, getting robbed is a risk, carrying a gun is also a risk in its own right.
