I have read the great reviews of these 1/4" Milton V fittings. I have found threads on other forums where guys mic'd the ID of fittings and posted them. The following is taken from another forum.........

Generic 1/4" type M .200
Milton 1/4" type V .283
Generic 3/8" type M .318
Generic 1/2" type M .377
Inside of a generic 1/4" coupler at the treaded end .324"

So it looks like the limiting factor for airflow if you are using hose ends with 1/4" fittings is around .324 so all the couplers will reduce your airflow somewhat.

Has any one mic'ed the ID of a Milton 3/8" type V fitting? Just wondering how much larger they are than the standard 3/8" fittings.

IIRC the 3/8 v fitting looked the same as th 1/4" version except for the thread diameter.
another thing to keep in mind, the V fitting may only be .083" bigger but this nearly doubles the cross sectional area of the fitting!

So, is the extra .035" in diameter of the standard 3/8" fittings worth it to go with them over the Milton V 1/4" fittings?

the V fittings can flow something like 74 cfm, more than enough air for any 1/2" impact, or other tool with a 1/4 npt inlet. That said, more flow never hurts anything

in the chart in the OP the dimensions refer to the body size of the fitting, not the thread size. The V fittings do not come in any body size other than 1/4
