Looks like I could run 4-6 lights with a decent ($20-$30) AC/DC converter. Tempting.

Any idea what the part number is on that? What's your plan for them? I'm thinking about it for task lighting but I'd have to figure out a way to run them off a battery or get a converter.

Seems these would be the closest but they are 1200 lumen vs the claimed 1400.

Grote 63E21, but seller does include the pigtail.

For reference, Summit and Amazon has them at like 120-130 each without pigtail.

The lights are about the best LED work lights out there. They will wind up n my tractor, Jeep, plow trucks:thumbup:

The 24v bigger Trillions he has are absolutely ridiculous. I have four of them and those are AMAZINGLY bright. Unfortunately they are 24v.

No kidding. That's a $400+ light if I'm reading this right.

the trilliant are usually 10-24 volts.they have 2 ranges so 10 through 15 v for low voltage and 16-24 for the next range.they seem just as bright at 15 v as they are at 30v.

The CRI is not the best (69), for example the Costco LED shop lights will give you much better color rendering, not that you would use these in a shop but color rendering is something to consider.

I just looked at their product line. Unless I have the wrong one and not what you looked at, almost every 24 volt lamp is also offered as a 12/24. The bulbs apparantly can be wired as one 24 volt string or split into two 12 volt strings wired in parallel Maybe they have enough 24 volt customers that it pays to make some straight 24 volts.I hope this helps you out.

All dimensions are on that link I posted. Grote is awesome at putting all tech specs and dimensions.
The one spec I did not see was color temperature (the shade of white) .With LED's they can make them any color they like. Personally, I find that blue white (6000-6500K) that they call "daylight" to be irritating but it is popular. I like a warmer "cool white" that is around 4100K. If I get serious I will just call them and ask.

They are just as bright. They have split the bulbs into two strings. They can be wired in series for the higher voltage or in parallel for the lower voltage. Each bulb is getting just as much in either case.

I was looking for the color temp spec and and did not see it. I thought I would be stuck with the more popular 6000-6500K "daylight". I like the more neutral 4000K What is offered?

all im sure of is if it says 12 - 24 they can be used as fog lights.extremely bright fog lights lol. we build oilfield equipment at work and most is 24v.
a couple have been retrofitted to fit cordless tool batteries and are nice portable spotlights.

So do the bigger ones they are selling easily work with 12 volt or are there different models? I am somewhat confused. The other ones I have bought before always work great for the whole range without any wiring modifications.

Just heard from the seller, they are the 24v only models.

The big Trilliants I have are dual voltage, but they do list some as only 24V which I think those listed are only 24v. I do know the ones I have are military surplus, and those were dual voltage...that would make me think most are dual. I did ask the seller, will posts up what I get.

One other nice thing about those big ones is the lenses can be changed to go from spot to flood to wide flood, trapezoid, etc.

I was looking at their catalog. There seems to be a 12/24 model for any of the 24 only models. I don' t know why rhe even make 24 only models. A third connection in the middle of the string and it will run on either voltage.

I looked at t

heir catalog and there seems to be a 12/24 model corresponding to each 24 only model. As I said before, they either run the whole string if bulbs on 24 volts or split it in half and run the two halves on 12 volts. Result is the same

Any somewhat-decent LED light assembly doesn't work like that. It uses a PWM LED driver which would expect a somewhat defined input range. It's not like Christmas lights where you can split the string in half and thus run it on half the voltage.

I am aware if what you are saying and I am quite familiar with PWM but neither of us know which is actually in there. On the rear view of one of their lights, I see no sign of a heat sink or even any ventilation that semiconductors would require. All I see is a lot of plastic. My guess is still Christmas tree lights. If anybody has better info I am open to listen. I have been known to be wrong...a lot.

And I am wrong again. It took forever to find it but the 12/24 only has 2 wires, has a metal finned back and is actually continuously compensating up to 36 volts but they just give the current specs at 12 and 24 volts. That is really nice. That means it would make a nice portable work light off an 18 or 20 volt power tool battery.

There is no plastic at all in either model housing, and as you saw the backs are giant finned heat sinks.

You said that better lamps were designed this way but I gather it was a well informed guess, rather than info.on these particular lamps. I just wanted to prove it to my own satisfaction. There are a lot of overpriced work lamps out there getting by on a lot less sophisticated circuitry. You guessed right and I guessed wrong.
