bought some random wrenches over the last few weeks in tool shop clearance bin, only really getting to go through them today.
am in Ireland, its metric all the way here, but i also included some SAE.
got about 5 nice long armstrongs. now to the point

there were also two snap-on box wrenches.

XS1012 - 12-Point 5/16"–3/8" Short 10° Offset Box Wrench

and this one which i am finding hard to get info on.

XI1618, its a 1/4"-9/32" short/Midget 10° offset box wrench, the problem i am having is, its 6 point not 12 point. i cant find anything on this?
my google fu may be weak this evening?

now i will be the first to admit, i really know very little about snap-on, i am a home worker only so snap-on never made sense price-wise to me.
this wrench is very unlikely to actually be used by me, but would like to know a little bit on it.

I bought several of these starting when I first started repairing around 1954. Just because I wanted them I have purchased several recently from EBay so that I now have one of every size listed in the 1960s catalog and there is no 1/4" - 9/32" listed. I also researched earlier and later catalogs on the Collecting Snap On site within the years above and therer was not one in any of these. Is there a date code on it to isolate what catalog to look in? Otherwise, beats me.:dunno:

If you are looking for a Snap on 1/4-9/32 short midget 10° offset box wrench, I

believe you want an XID1618. It is still available from Snap on.

Thanks a lot guy, you have been very help full.
Yes it's six point, but not looking for one, I have one. @bill300d you found it,
Midget offset Box socket wrench, p83 of 1970 catalog
can't believe it was that far back, as far as I can tell this is nos. However 1087 was etched onto it. Next time I an in the shop I will ask about that.

Were you asking about about a 12 point or a 6 point?

I was under the impression that you wanted to know about a 12 point wrench.

Sorry for any confusion guys,
I bought two wrenches.
1. Was a snap-on XS1012 - 12-Point 5/16"–3/8" Short 10° Offset Box Wrench.
I could find what set that came from no problem, easy goggle.
2. was a snap-on 6 point, short/Midget 10° offset box wrench. Code XI1618, its a 1/4"-9/32" this was the wrench I had two photos off in the first post.
I could find nothing on line about it. That was the only one I was asking about. But Bill300d in post three linked to a page in the 1970 catalogue that has an entry that matches the wrench.
Thanks everyone again for all your assistance, I have the answer I was looking for.

Yes, you can find them (XID's) as back as in the 1962 catalog.

Just to add to the post, I am learning.
The xs1012 wrench had a stamp of () turns out that's a year stamp, it's 1990.
The XI1618 has the stamp of ) which is 1991. So not as old as they appeared, but still have a few years on them.
