I suggest double checking the sku and upc to confirm it is the same as the one in that $169 tag. I would also ask An employee to scan the bar code with their phone.

One thing I have realized is that HD employees just put things anywhere, to them if it looks the same it is the same.

I think it maybe just misplaced as all the stores by me are $30.

The clearance ones have white styrofoam on the ends.

For the lower price stickers there's often a date on the right lower side indicating how long that price is good till. Good indicator that it's a sale or targeted discount

Good call. Looks like the three-pack of pegboard magnets and the magnetic-backed 1/4" bit organizers are on sale until 4/25/17.

It all makes perfect sense if I just think about it. In HD's view this is "organization" season. The swing area is full of shelving, bins and tubs. These products are just garage organization as they see it.

WOW, $50 dollars off, that's Un-*******-Believable!
I'm not sure I can continue on, I'm coming, Elizabeth!
Oh, or maybe that's just a .06 wait for it... .03 wait for it... horse with a long nail sticking out of it's head (don't say penny) item.
Thank you SO much for posting that "sneak peek"
I've been lurking here for a long time and haven't posted anything (they tell me I'm not "Smart" enough to have a phone). I used to be on various HD clearance threads (incl. slickstools) back as far as '06. Who remembers that individual (pre HD data breach) who offered to dump the internal API with keys for $$$$. Good Times. I doubt Coralnut would've approved.
The way the moderators/owner chose to handle this type of thread is admirable, as I can imagine there was a HUGE spike in traffic for a while. Deals posted here (tools/materials are $$$$) have helped 3 organizations that I know of to rebuild from damages and destruction on their own without having to sign away their souls for fed. funds. Rant over and thanks to those who post here.
Fantanstic! it was very nice of him to share a deal from the private forum, you have to admit. if that is the kinds of deals they post over there, no wonder they keep it private, they must make a killing over there!!

Found a chandelier and a couple of the pass thru ratchets. No sockets though. Hopefully I can find some. Ignore the wall plates that I actually needed.

Thanks for sharing guys. I was in the Champaign IL HD today. I didn't see any of the hand tools or ladders but they had the pruners and pegboard magnets if any of you are in the area.

One has to be a good contributor. Not simply light, faucet or other random **** deals, but real deals! And not ask how things work, know how things work!
I thought the first rule of private forum was not to talk about private forum

I noticed in my store the 46" Milwaukee tops went to $299.00. They were at $75.03 for just a couple days then jumped back the $225.06 and now they're still showing clearance but at $299.00 in the PCA LOL

I think HD is confused on the concept of clearance here :D

Lowes does that too, it's interesting. I bought a bunch of stuff from the electrical department at about 80% off, and then what was left I noticed went back to almost full price on "clearance" and sat for weeks/months.

I have no issue with people posting luke-warm deals (i.e. just .00 things)... You never know what you might need or want. No reason to complain, just move on to the next post... I think it's good to talk about what things are going on sale because even if it's just local to one store, the trend can always end up with other stores doing similar in the following weeks... Or they post something that is not discounted much, but someone else chimes in that their store has a lower price so they can wait to purchase (or go back in a week or so and get their receipt price-matched when it drops in their store).

My store always seems to lag behind the others in price drops, sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes the deals never happen...

Same here, the pruners I bought last week for $20 are back to $80 this week. In the spirit of the thread I found a mailbox on clearance (I needed a new one anyway).

That box deal was posted about 15 pages back. Some stores have them as low as $25. I bought one @$75.

Exactly. The DeWalt top box is still $124.00 here. I know I'm just crazy but I'm happy w 50% off. Plus I really needed it and it's helped me get organized. And as much as I hate DeWalt it's a lot of box for $124.

Remember the people who want to wait to the last second to pay the ABSOLUTE minimum are just looking to maximize profits when they re-sell it. So sure, hide the deals 'til they're a penny so some guy in your area can then put it back on your local CL at 80% of original retail.

Do people only pay attention if you post pics bragging about how big the haul was?? I guess that's what gets SDs attention

Decent deal for a top box?

I've got that lower box at my Bridgeport. The drawers are only 15" deep and they're a bit flimsy but it's not terrible. I'd say the top box at $112.00 is ok, not a screaming deal but if the size works for you, go for it.

I'm not looking to re-sell anything... Anything I buy it's either because I can use it, or the price is so stupid low that even if I use it just once it was worth buying.

Penny deals are like Christmas... Fun, but usually a bunch of stuff you don't really need. Except I got lucky with the deck screws, I use the **** out of those building benches and shelves and such. It also helps I get free lumber that the home-builders toss in their dumpsters around here.

I agree i don't have a home depot close but if it's something i need/want i'm happy to buy it at the .06/.03 mark.. I don't even look for penny deals when I make the drive

I hardly ever resell. But only an idiot would buy at 06 to keep it when they could buy it at 03 to do the same.

Really?

Because as more and more people on this thread (and the supposed private forums) start seeing deals, I think the chance of .06 stuff making it to .03 while still being in stock will just dwindle away.
