Posted this over in the Hot Deals thread, but it got deleted... Guessing because I was asking a question, rather than informing of a deal... Basically, wondering this is a HOT DEAL, or if I should wait/something better is out there.

I am primarily a woodworker, though a bit of a jack-of-all when it comes to stuff around the house and basic mechanical work. I am thinking of getting a bottom box to house my screwdrivers/ratchets/sockets/wrenches/etc. This box would also be used as the based cabinet for my tablesaw outfeed support as I am in a SMALL shop (single car garage).

This is about the top of my budget at $299.

I would say that's not a hot deal, at least not to me. 30lb drawer rating is a no go for me. I think you're better off getting two 26" boxes with heavier weight capability and building a bench to slide them under, or save up $50 and get the HF 44". If you don't want to go that route check out Home Depot for one of the Husky boxes.

Agree with Parrot on this one. 30 pound drawer weight is no good.

Not an ideal layout for sockets/wrenches either. Would be a decent woodworking box.

Parrot has this one nailed.... a 30 pound drawer rating is a deal killer for me, as well. Ilike your idea, but think I'd be looking at HF, or Menards, if there is one near you.

Seen that in person, its way too flimsy. For Craftsman boxes go heavy duty minimum. Either expand your budget for this:

Note taken on the drawer rating, as i've never bought or owned one of these before, not even something I considered. Have worked with drawer slides a bunch though, and a 30lb rated drawer slide would more than likely be junk... Which is sort of the reason I started to look into this route, rather than building a simple chest of drawers myself (drawers slides are $$)...

While the Husky and Harbor Freight boxes look nice, they are tool tall for my purpose. My table saw sits at 35.5" high, ideally the box would be at least an inch short to accommodate a piece of MDF for the outfeed surface. Besides some of the shorter width (~26") cabinets, I am having trouble finding something that fits that constraint. I may be better off just building a plywood box and some drawers suited for the task a hand. Time and materials add up though, as I am sure you all are aware!

Do you need the cabinet to be mobile? If not, don't install casters on on of the taller boxes.

As others have stated, the Craftsman cabinet is terribly flimsy. If it's the only thing you can find that will work in your situation it might be necessary, but I don't think it's truly worth anything over $200.

IDK if you have a Costco membership but they have a $300 trinity workbench at my local Costco, they have 100lb drawer capacity I believe.
Sorry they aren’t listed on their website.
