in talking w a few long time employee there is a date on clearance merchandise and it drops every 30 days, they showed me the date in the sticker.

It's not so cut and dry when it comes to price drops. If you read any of the older threads, several discussions about random drops or items that spend months at a certain price level.

As others will undoubtedly tell you, it's been posted at least twice already. But I don't think all stores even got those. I swear they were never in my closest store. Maybe I'm wrong.....

I hadn't seen it posted yet. :dunno: The one I bought was the only one I've seen in the stores around here.

1001397583 gorilla ladder regular $79.99 down to $64.98and they were by a clearance rack instead of by the ladders.

Yeah I think something is going to go on with these. My store moved them over by the Pro Desk and set them up. The last few items they moved to the Pro Desk were the multiladders and the tyle sawz, and an employee today said he was trying to move the $50 Milwaukee top to the Pro Desk but never made it before someone bought it.

Am I the only one that looks at this threads, then goes into an HD a day or two later, spends several minutes trying to find ONE deal like any of the ones posted here and finds nothing even close?

I've never seen any crazy deals like what gets posted here....

Have I seen clearance items with great prices? Yes, but it's mostly garbage to start with.

I try to visit HD whenever I'm in that area, but honestly my store doesn't keep the stock of larger cities (especially for high-dollar items) so many things never were in the store to begin with.

I also don't resell so many things don't interest me just because it's cheap or free. I do try to keep a mental note of locations of various things I could use. Like others have said not everything is grouped together, if you walk around the lumber area a lot of overflow is over there, and along the back of the store. My store also tends to keep things well organized though and is constantly shifting stuff around. Sometimes you get lucky, but it's not a guarantee...

I have noticed not every store has the same clearance. A store by work had some 2" trailer hitch balls for 2$ and change. At the store near my house, they were still 8$ +/-.

online and in store dont match either. The tool box I listed today, 99$ in store, 250$ online. Online said the store I was standing in looking at 3 of them said they were out of stock.

Early bird and being lucky gets you a deal deal.

"milwuakee 46" tool boxes for $50"

thanks for the heads up on that one! i had to hit 4 stores, but finally found one with some in stock. i bought the last two - one to keep and one to either sell to brother or to flip if he doesn't take it.

i underestimated how big they are. i realized when the pair took the entire back of my bronco with the seats folded forward.

When an item goes clearance, it will show up as "not in stock" at your store online. So when searching for deal people post, never trust going to the website...

And as long as it's not a penny deal, don't be afraid to ask an associate for help locating...

Yeah, it's fantastic he just posted that for all the slickdeals lurkers to scoop them up. Some things should not be posted.

I was at a Home Depot a little further out from my usual store yesterday and I found the ladder and a few of the mini fridges. Full price on the ladder and not much off of the mini fridges. They've had one of the 9 drawer boxes left for almost two weeks, dented pretty badly, but they won't go any lower than $49.

I'd like to thank big country, cause I would have never found that MW deal.. I could spend as much time as I want in HD but the box was still marked $299 in pca and savings didn't show up till check out. Not sure how else one would know about crazy NLP savings unless it's posted here or the store actually advertised it

Post the **** deals. Post good ones and the lurkers **** them up, slickdeals, etc.
What's the point of the thread if no one posts good deals? How are you better than a lurker if you don't post the deals you know about, but read this thread?

Well this item was marked as a NLP, It was a top/bottom combo tool box. Top with NLP was "out of stock" online, bottom with NLP, (albeit not a huge NLP) said they had 2. Maybe the top was clearanced, then NLP on the clearance price??

Now I just have to troll the stores to try and get the bottom cheap!

Will one Home Depot price match another's NLP if I have a picture? I want to try the Milwaukee top posted a couple pages back. Here's the pic.

Unfortunately HD's policy is they will not match their internet or other stores prices!! They tend to be very strict on this one.

Hit up the Euclid Home Depot to see what I could find. They have the welder, it is still the original price, I had someone scan it. Same with the $604 stranded copper cable, still the original price. Apparently it's regional when stores mark things down, can someone clarify?

I have a few additions and I will add how many items are left, if you are local;
Oil-less fryer and roaster, $28.04 (8)
Weber pizza stone, $8.83 (1)
Weber poultry roaster, $12.03 (3)
2-pack cedar planks $2.33 (0)
Log racks and log rack covers (many)
Echo silent twist line 2.83
Grabbed the tree pruners, still a lot of the $10 ones left
Well point, whatever that is, looked like a good deal, lol (2)

I went back to the store to grab another roaster and they were all gone. I started to look around and noticed that just about everything I posted was gone from the shelves. I found the log racks on rolling racks in the main aisle. I then found a shopping cart filled with the pocket hoses, echo twist line, a sprinkler, and a couple other small items pushed in a corner. I thought maybe they pennied out and were removed, but I took a couple things and scanned them, no such luck.

Why would the clearance stuff be removed? To make room and be sent back to the manufacturer?

Probably to make room for the spring refresh... During the week they aren't as picky about where stuff is, the big crowds come on the weekends. I'm sure it will find a place by late Friday. Or maybe they were moving it to the clearance rack.

My kids now know where the clearance end cap is in each store.

My HD has TWO clearance areas. One end-cap in the middle of the store. And a second area in the very back of the store on another end-cap about one or two isles over from the first clearance one. Make sure you walk around your store completely, some stores have multiple clearance areas!

I went to my HD today, and the stupid milwaukee boxes are still full price. They just converted them over to new product #'s and never lowered them at all... :( There were some weatherheads & vent things on clearance. They still had wallplates on clearance too so I grabbed some as I was going to run some ethernet to some more places in the house. Other than that...

The Milwaukee boxes are still 698.00 at my local store also. They do have 2 of the Dewalt bottom boxes for $269, but no top boxes.

Ha! Your post led me to head to HD to see if I could find this saw. My intend it to redo both our bathrooms and maybe the tile in the foyer as well. I couldn't pass up a decent saw for $25.

I found the clearance ticket and had to have an employee get the forklift and pull a palette off the top shelf. He was more than happy to help me and was surprised by the deal.

On the way out I decided to see if they had any good sales for work lights. Sure enough...

...was also $25.03! I also had to get them to pull the last two off the top shelf. :rocker:

Nice! I needed the saw too, planning to redo the kitchen and one of our bathrooms in tile. I've never had much luck finding things in the overheads, that's incredible you found two in one trip! Saw the light in my store as well, but passed since I had recently purchased a different led work light. Trying to be a little responsible by only buying things I really need haha.
