Yep, I have registered 3-4 tools here in the last month. One was completed in a day (I think because the cash register data was already loaded in their system). The others I registered the night I purchased the tool and it took about a week.

No special finds at my store today, albiet I didn't have that much time to dig around. Everything was in the system as-marked.. :(

They did have these HDX shelves marked down to $10. Picked one up for a little misc garage storage...

Ridgid does not offer a lifetime warranty, it is a service contract which requires sending in paper work within 90 days of purchase. And plan on them sending it back stating it is the wrong upc code. And then good luck with them actually providing any service on that battery in 4 years.

Many people have found the contract is useless, myself included so don't ever buy ridgid based on that service contract, again it is not a lifetime warranty on the power tools.

I'm sorry you had problems registering, but stating they do not have LSA is not true at all, but I'm not going to argue with you in a deal thread.

On with the deals!

This.

There are several love it or hate it Ridgid LSA threads in General Tool and elsewhere on the board.

Unfortunately I also don't have any deals to contribute today, prices seem to be stagnant at my store. NOTHING is moving right now.

On with the deals!

Im not arguing but stating my experience AND many have the same issues, as google will quickly show anyone searching.

Also, please show me where I stated they do not have a LSA, I stated they do not offer a lifetime warranty? You do know service agreement and warranty are not the same? edit, while not a big difference to the end user, there are legal differences.

On to deals.

I noticed two stores had the Milwaukee 46" bottoms in stock today where they did not have them yesterday and PCA stated as such.

Also noticed several stores with a nice stock of the Husky 200 piece tool kit with metal tool chest.

So funny all this talk about Ridgid LSA....I saw this behind the returns register today. I know it's not a deal & I apologize but it's timely.

I finally rode my first unicorn last night. I thought maybe it was a myth. Fiskars tree pruner (which I need badly). I was nervous about getting through SCO but lucked out because the CSR had to do something behind the register when I was approaching.

I guess that is possible, but I've never heard anyone report they had any issues with the Limited Lifetime Service Agreement. I guess if you sent in the wrong UPC it's not surprising you had issues.

It's one of the few that cover batteries, and HD exchanges the tools and batteries under warranty. Quick and easy, that's why everyone likes the LLSA so much. It's a big motivator to buy Ridgid.

 Good deal. ;) Some don't care, but always better to err on the side of caution and get through without being noticed.

Always keep some pennies or a nickel in your pocket for a trip to HD. :)

Guess nearly everyone is "lucky" then.

Well, if you sent in the wrong bar code.....

Definitely a different experience than nearly everyone else. Most of us just call the number on the application, are connected to a real person within a few seconds, resolve it quickly, and never have another issue. Cannot imagine how what you claim happened is even possible.

Your experience is likely the only experience anyone has had like that.

Woodturner, thanks for the implied insults, I would not have expected less from you. Please don't try to get me fired like the Lowe's employee/s. Oh wait, I own the corporation, phew. Also amazing ability you have to speak for everyone else, there would not be posts by others on Garage Journal or pages of results on Google if I were the only person to ever have a issue with the service contract.

Last one from me on creating noise about this and I do apologize to others for responding, only meant to advise anyone to not put a lot of value on the "lifetime" aspect of Ridgid, as some have experienced issues as did I. Thankfully HD stood up and made me whole by basically giving me a $400 gift card for my trouble and purchase price. And hopefully they have greatly improved the process as noted by some here.

I was definitely unprepared because I don't try to shop for pennies. I do try to find stuff that I need at clearance pricing though. I was looking for one of the pruners at the last clearance price and realized it was probably a penny. I paid with Visa because I didn't have a gift card or cash!

So I had purchased two of the DeWalt 36" tops in early February; one for me and one for a friend. My district was (and still is) at $124 on these. 1000-042-427 (the website now reflects these as discontinued)

Today I was in a different district where they're $99 but OOS. I went to returns with nothing but two emailed receipts on my phone and the lady did a return & rebuy on both at $99. She even commented how great it is they can do this (ie not bringing the product in) and said she once tried this w some blouses at a different retailer and thought it was stupid when they told her they would have to have the tags to scan.

So, cross-district returns are possible. Seems to me if HD really wanted to prevent it it would be easy; the barcode on my receipt contains all info about the original transaction.

I know some will say I'm unethical but I did nothing more than ask. edit: I will say I never said I purchased at a different store and having it on your phone gives them less to "examine" to look for excuses if the employee is personally opposed to such practices. But from Joe Consumer's point of view, Home Depot is Home Depot.

I have been checking around my local Home Depot as I walk through the store, and have yet to notice any sales like the ones I see posted here. Are they in special locations or is my timing that's bad?

Don't ever be nervous about something like that. I can understand some nerves when you have something that retails for $200 plus but not minor stuff like a pole saw.

Congrats though.

Fyi, the more expensive pruners come a part in multiple areas making sawing very fun. First the bottom handle came off on me. Then, the middle pulled apart. Have to be very gentle when sawing. Broke out the penny 14 footer, and while it is sturdier, the saw position plus the dangling rope were quite bothersome. Overall, the ropeless is much nicer and I was able to slice through rather thick branches effortlessly.

Never hurts to ask, the worst they can say is no... Besides, keeping the customer happy when a price drops and they save a few bucks still pays off in the long run as you will more than likely return to buy other stuff that you need there.

The plastic piece attaching the saw blade to the ropeless pruner is not likely to last. And as you discovered having both the blade and the rope on the same pole can be bothersome when the blade gets in the way when you are using the cutter on small branches. And the rope gets in the way when you are sawing. I really like the ropeless pruner without the saw blade attachment for small stuff. I had an old pole pruner with a worn cutting blade and dull saw and almost cut through rope. So I took the removed all of the rope cutting parts on the old one so I am left with pretty much a pole with a metal saw blade attachment point. I put the blade from the ropeless one on the old pruner. Now I have one pole saw dedicated to sawing larger branches and the ropeless one dedicated to pruning smaller branches.

Since you have both and they were cheap, you might want to do that.

the ropeless one gets really bad reviews. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Fiskars-12-ft-Telescoping-Pruning-Stick-92406935J/100200394

Haha I strapped the heck out of them and had to take one out of the box and place it in my truck cab.

I was at another Home Depot a little ways from where I live yesterday. They had 8 separate tops ($50) and bottoms ($280) but refused to sell them separately. The lady tried to tell me it was a national glitch in the system that they were marked to $50 and that their manager will only sell them as a pair for $698. I wanted a bottom.

Nice! Were all those really individual tops w SKU ending in 1 or did they screw up & sell you some 4's also?

They were all the correct sku (1001243468). I got three at one store and 2 at another. There's not another one around me at any store within 100 miles from what I can see

Nah, take a look at the numbers under the actual barcode on the packaging. Home Depot's internal numbers of 1000, 1001 etc are just in their system.

Go back another time and get your hands on a bottom. If it has the right SKU under the barcode (you can verify in PCA) it'll ring up $280.00. Pay and walk out.

Still finding these even though the PCA shows 0 or small numbers. Thought I had lucked out but all of the -328 kits had been opened and someone swapped the Hue bulb's with regular LEDs. Found a couple of the -326 and they were sealed but I decided to open them at the service desk. Of the 3 kits, 8 out of 9 bulbs were broken. No apparent damage to the boxes. So check the bulbs before leaving the store.

I've looked everywhere for one. No stores around me have it. The only one I located was yesterday. They had 8 of them but the employees refused to sell it separately from the top. I'm 99% sure they were the correct bottoms. The employees almost got defensive when I asked them to look up the sku (after refusing to let me use the computer as well to look up prices)

My local HD seem to have a huge problem with letting me use the PCA on their computers. The insist I'm not allowed to....

Have you had any luck finding the Milwaukee bottoms for $280 recently?

What do y'all think about the $280 Milwaukee bottoms? I scored a couple of tops when the deal first popped up and now there are 2 bottoms available nearby at $280. Seems like a good deal, but I wonder if they will drop more soon.

Ya it's the correct one. 10-20-4250

Nope. See this. See how the UPC ends in 1? You're after that. Under the barcode on the packaging, ie the thing you scan at the register. If your packaging has some that end in 4 you got some that were supposed to be combos (not that I care - congrats!)
