Just moved into this house 2 months ago, finally had some "garage time" away from work and other priorities to get some of my tools out moving boxes and put away. The cabinet was a gift from my wife's mom after my her Dad passed away. He handmade it several years ago, and I think of him every time I open it up. It was always referred to in her family as the "John Deere cabinet" and that tradition has continued with me.

His old hand saws will likely never get used but I left them in because they came with the cabinet and I think the handmade mounting clamps are just plain cool.

I had a carpenter do some work on my house and the custom made tool box to hold his saws and chisels was a work of art.
Those old timers took real pride in their work.

I talked to an old time carpenter. He said back in the day building your tool box was one of the first things you did as an apprentice.
