An easily configurable, perfect 1/8 scale replica, of the much loved HF 44" roller box. Comes in a variety of versions and colors. Flavors currently not supported, you weirdo. Measurements are 133.3 ✕ 59.3 ✕ 106.4 mm or roughly 3x4x5.

Their are currently 4 versions being worked on. The first (pictured above) is the "Bench" version I've modified to hold baking soda or silica to keep moisture out of my socket drawer. It could also easily be modified to be used as:

-small parts storage
-coin bank
-small Bluetooth speaker
-hide a key

The "Bench" version is exactly like it sounds. No handle, no casters, like it was being mounted in a bench or work table. A good choice where drawer or storage space height is a concern.

The "Display" version has the casters, the handle (detachable) and a tiny rubber mat on top. The "Display" version is hollow inside like the "Bench" version (1/4" wall thickness for manly men) and is meant to be a slightly fancier model, and where overall height isn't a concern.

The "Collector" version has the "Display" version additions, but non-hollow with fully functioning drawers. Meant more for the man who misses his box at work or on vacation, or just wants a desk knick-knack.

The 4th Version is a trade secret for the moment. :bounce:

My modified bench is being printed as I type. I'll upload pictures when the print is fine tuned.

Just thought I'd share my next 3D printing project. If this is in the wrong section, my apologies to the mods. Once all the .mdl files are done and tweaked for printing, I may sell these at some point if there is enough interest.

Here are pics of the first refined print, now time to add some chrome! I'll probably tumble or acetone smooth it, then sand the smallest bits first though.

Very cool project. Are the drawers functional?

Also skip the chrome and it'll be a model of my special limited X-tra Pri-C Eddie Bauer Edition Long Horn HEMI Boss HF 44:

Happened to notice your bed in one of the shots. If it is a heated bed, you are doing yourself a disservice by not switching over to a glass bed. It is so much easier to print on, remove prints, keep clean, etc. I printed the Z-stop and clips myself (on blue tape) and then got plain glass from HD for the bed.

Overall, really cool. Would love one on my desk for a pencil holder or other small stuff.

Like i rambled on about above, on 2 versions yes! This version is a bench type, for holding things "piggy bank style" Its going to hold silica beads and keep rust of'n my sockets. (hence the vent holes on the sides) The sister .mdl file to this one has all the slide reliefs and drawer guides/drawers so you print the drawers and chest seperately. Going to print that one next.

How much to liscense your version? Im sure you've got one heck of a trademark wall on that beauty.

You joke.. but.. I kinda thought about that and made the .mdl file. Dont judge me.

While that is neat, you sir are sick. ;)

Thanks! Yeah, its size makes it great for many desk related shenanigans. (**** secretary not included) At some point if i can get the price down enough, ill sell all the versions. If not, ill release the .mdl files then its the worlds problem!

About the bed, goose isnt my printer. Just borrowing it since mine is throwing a hissy at the moment.
How about some tiny HF tools to put in it?

Bill

Any raster files of tools can be scaled down and printed, so it could happen.

Is Steevo going to print a workbench for it ... :spit:

Maybe, but hes a mysterious man.

How much did you save over 3D printing a snap on box?

Bob

Nothing, snap on said the red was too close to their color. They've sent me mean letters, and ive responded by gently weeping on the edge of the bed.

^^^ THAT is FUNNY.
