I'm going to order the 1/4 and 1/2 inch as well. I like the handle on my snap-on fx80 more but you can't best Armstrong on the price and quality.

I actually had to return the 1/4 that came. The forging had divots, and the teeth that lock the flex were gouged in such a way that when locked into the straight position, you could easily flex it. If they were having those kind of QC issues it's not so surprising that Apex is shuttering the brand. Hopefully it was a fluke and the replacement will be better.

A few weeks ago, my driver had the low profile ratchet set (metric) and those stubby bits on special:

I got a new "tool box" the other day.

I won it in a raffle that was rigged in my favor.

I did get a new tool today but I am not going to bother posting a picture.

It is simply a 9mm 1/4 inch deep Snap-On socket.
My old one rolled into the nether regions of a car and it is never coming back.

Advanced auto had a 30% off code (TRT30) so I got the Gearwrench standard and deep 3/8 metrics, total was $40 before tax. Pretty good price for a full set of metric standard and deeps. Gonna go pick them up in the morning!

Finally got me a 35MAX. Pretty rare bird around here.

They also sent me a freebie. 19mm Power Socket.

That socket looks and feels extremely high quality. I was gonna order a 21mm until I found out the price.

Not when you NEED it. I have the low profile 3/8 set and it sits in my box for months at a time. But when I need it it's there

I've made a lot of those small insert bits with a pair of vise grips and a grinder with a cutoff wheel. I have done it with nutdrivers also.

$32 for low profile bitset/special is not that crazy...

Technically they were "free", but he broke it out that way, the low profile ratchet was $150, normally $230 and it came with the low profile bits. I thought for $150, that was a good deal. I don't usually see prices like that on ebay. The problem is that I can't find a deal on the SAE low profile sockets and to be honest, I wanted those more than anything. So I may have to cost average (rationalize) purchasing the SAE set at a higher price. :(

Yup, it is a fish tank, made from a real toolbox. The slots are intake for the pump that is hidden in a sump behind the picture. It is pretty cool, but I have no room for it right now, hopefully I can build a shelf for it and get it set up this month.

Just a former body man, current part time fabricator and full time mechanical engineering student here. Bought a FCF72 the other day and found a spare spot to stick it. KRL incoming when the rock and roll truck comes back to town.

#socketdrawersaturday anyone?

Scored this pretty interesting 1/4" ratchet today. Second hand but it's good condition, could probably do with a little clean up!

Called a sidewinder and as you turn the red handle the ratchet drive turns! Pretty cool!

I've got one of those in 1/2" drive, never use it. It's cool though, neat idea and probably useful in certain situations.
