I bought this for 65ish dollars on advice of a member here.
No markings.
The pipe is a machine fit and must have a small key way cut in it that a bolt sits in to keep it from twisting.
It hasn't anyway to mount it except by way of the pipe.
3 1/4"jaws.
Any idea what the deal is?
I'm thinking it must be part of a larger piece of equipment since it requires quite a clamp to hold the pipe in place and the pipe is so long.
I can only imagine it is like a pulling tool, maybe held a tool to work a giant naval part or something.
Up for trade if you need such a thing.

It is not part of a machine, but a "stand alone" vise. It is missing the collar that attached it to the edge of a work table. The post moved up and down within the collar. With the post being round, the vise swiveled. Am fairly sure the collar rotated (like VISEs Nason) as well.
Have the patent somewhere. Am looking, will find. Think Get, CRS or VA has an advertisement for one. It may have include a table as part of the vise.
Saw it on EvilPrey and it piqued my interest. Very interesting, very rough shape.
