So looking for another drill press to restore. I did a 103.0305 and want to try my hand at another model and learn the ins and outs. Further my education of these great machines. My only resource is eBay since here in SC they don't have these kinds of machines here. Let me know if you think it's worth it. I know the main table has seen better days. Thank you to whomever answers the call.

For $50 I'd probably pick it up. Have you checked on Facebook marketplace? That was where I found my DP. Also an app called varage sale?

I don't have Facebook and never heard of the varage app.. I'll check it out... I was thinking the same on the press. But don't know if these were sought after or not... Plan on restoring and flipping it...

I'd pass. That table is total trash. Keep looking and you'll find something better.

Why guys do that to DP tables is beyond me!!

You know I was thinking the same thing. I always wonder what benefit is that having to hammer the table like that!? Is it for table clamps?

I would buy that for $50.00. It looks like an Atlas made one. Tables come up on Ebay often. The only bad part is if you pick it up you will be charged $20.00 for them to bring it to you.

Well I wish all it would cost me is $20. I'd have to ha e it shipped. Shipping would be $140.00. So $190 total. But here in South Carolina you can't find anything like this here. I don't know what it is about the South but they don't have vintage stuff down here like that. At least I can't find them...

IMO, the resale would be $100-$150 fully restored (depending on your area)
At $50 +handling fee for local pickup, it might be worth it, but not if you're paying a freight charge. If you already have a roadtrip planed for something else, then it might be worth it to you. YMMV.

Aside from the arc of shame, the spindle cover is missing ($50-$75 if one pops up on eBay). Everything else seems to be there. It doesn't have the optional slow speed pulley (up to $250). If it did, the numbers would change.

Here's some details :
Made by Atlas
Four handles and an oval switch plate date it in the 1938/9 years. This means it should have a 1/3hp 1750rpm motor labeled for Craftsman or Companion to be original. A Dunlap motor would be a replacement.

Since I already have a 1940 model on my bench, I passed on another at $75 last year. It had the third pulley. I'm still kicking myself.

Thanks for the information. That'll help. If the resale value is that low then it wouldn't be worth the cost to buy and ship plus the cost to restore it. The preserving history is priceless and that's what I am trying to do at the same time but can't break the bank doing it. Hopefully someone will give it a good home. To bad NJ is so far from me otherwise I'd road trip it...
