I got this 6000lb Sissors Lift...

Now I need to make it useful.









It's 24" wide and 66" long.

I want to use it to work on Atv's snowmobiles and garden tractors.

Seems I could add some extensions to the platform and a small ramp on the back.


Thing weighs 900 lbs and goes up to 56" high. It's 120v motor that runs a hydraulic pump.

I plan to get a 2 post car lift in the shop someday so don't wana spend a ton of time and money on this

My buddy uses a motorcycle lift with extensions for similar. His has casters on jackscrews that can go up and down, that would be handy.

That's cool congrats. You planning on dropping it in the slab and doing it up flush or leaving it somewhat mobile?

Naw slab is poured. Thinking making it mobile to roll out of way when not using.

Or do I make it an adjustable height welding table by adding a new top to it??

I think you add a steel plate to the top with one end that has a short ramp attached.
Drill some holes in the steel plate around the dimension of the original lift platen.
Now you have an adjustable height welding table and a motorcycle/snowmobile/lawn tractor lift.

Add the wheels to make it mobile and have some screw down jacks next to the wheels to lock it in place and level it if needed.

I had a lift very similar to that. Orange and all, but cannot remember the brand name. Anyways, I used mine for my Harley rebuild. I welded a U shaped bracket to the front for the wheel to fit in and extended the back some. It worked great for a long time. Eventually the bike was completed and the lift just sat around, so I sold it. I think yours is to nice to be used as a welding table....

I saw one at a yard sale last summer, and kind of kick my self for not getting it, they wanted 300.00 for it. But I didn't want to spend that much that day.

I'm building the super shop and want the super welding table.

Figure I could get a nice thick top and this thing would handle it no problem assuming it's not tippy. It's designed to be bolted to the concrete at the base

I gota think adjustable height would be super handy for welding different stuff.
