If you are doing siding and brick, a pole building makes no sense. You need a foundation under brick in Iowa.
Thanks Radix2

Depends on the foundation design. A monolythic style slab would allow an extension for the brick fascia, but still allow a pole style construction.
But why? If you are going that way, insulate it so it is a frost protected shallow foundation and stick build your walls. Then you have a stable foundation against frost heave and high efficiency for heating.
Unless you are doing open metal siding - adding all the girts and framing to attach osb sheathing etc. doesn't save diddly in lumber and is an inferior base for siding.
Not seeing the attraction of poles in this case.
Tell him to stay home! OR....bring a big check.....

If the OP really wants a pole building, perhaps for the free span roof of a modified post and frame construction, he still has that option.
With the location so close to the home... and the facade that is being discussed, I too would go conventional foundation and stick frame.
