i have always wondered why none of these vendors have ever offered a "plug in battery adapter", a battery case with a cord attached to allow you to run the tool off the wall when it is convenient. it seems that these battery packs should have enough room in them for the size transformer they would need . . . .

i certainly though about playing around with this when one of my batteries went dead in a previous tool system i had. never got around to it, though . . . . . .

Their FlexVolt miter saw has a plug-in option.

Im heavily invested in Milwaukee stuff, but for 239 even Id consider the 7.25" slider.

That never works. I can only check stock on an item that comes up, but i can never change the store number and check different prices.

I change stores all the time in the PCA. Just put in the store number you want and pick ok. To switch it back to the local store you're at, click the set to local button. Pretty easy.

Once you change it, it should stay that store and you should be able to search around like normal until you change it back.

Never seemed to work at my local stores. Would be nice if it did though!

Anyone have any thoughts on those pass through sets? One store has like 10 of them for 33...

Unless you have a need for the pass through style, I'd get the 100 piece for $13 all day, everyday rather than the pass through.

I've never been a fan of pass throughs, I'd rather regular sockets and some ratcheting wrenches.

Found a 62" Husky adjustable work table 1000-681-738 for $149.00 today. Marked down from $248 to $174 on the yellow tag but $149 in the PCA. Needed something for the new shop so bought it. They also had quite a few of the Milwaukee Fastback camo flip knives with Free FASTBACK Flip Utility Knife 1001-861-983. Tag showed marked down from 14.88 to 7.54 but PCA showed $3.82. I picked up several for gifts but there were several left.

The remote stores function in the PCA fits with Home Depot's overall theme of doing things that don't make sense.

Here's what I've found:

It only works at around half of the stores I've tried it at, but will occasionally quit working at these stores for approx a day. I've tried rebooting the computer and it has never fixed it, but if you come back the next day it will ALWAYS be working again.

It's pretty useful once you find somewhere it actually works.

Also, if anyone is ever looking for a moderate to expensive electronic device that's on clearance but are unable to locate it, check customer service. They keep a lot of that stuff locked up back there.

I looked into making an adapter for the ryobi battery saw I have and found that it's very involved and more expensive than buying big batteries. The motor windings are made for dc power and a specific voltage and amperage put out by the battery. A battery can provide a much higher starting amperage than a simple ac to dc transformer. I'm guessing the expense of creating a saw that runs on battery and wall power exceeds the manufacturer's desired price point. I know Dewalt did it with their Flexvolt saw but that is a VERY expensive system.

Just used one yesterday, the one that went to 20.03 last year. Decent. Didn't need the extra length but still nice. Pro, has adapters for normal 1/4 and 3/8 sockets. Con, most of the sockets need the adapter to use the bigger 3/8 style ratchet.

Side pro, the 1/4 and 3/8 adapters could possibly be used as finger grip type adapters.

The first ones i submitted went through no problems. Even had high dollar purchases outside the marked window but within 60 days. All approved right away with no issues.

Just submitted 9 more a month or so ago and have contacted them 3 times so far. Still "up for review" by management but they said they should be complete by next week. :dunno:

I FINALLY got some of these rebates resolved. They told me there was a high number of rebates submitted during this period and some kind of glitch rejected them all. 5 out of the 9 are still showing invalid though. Might have to ***** at them some more.

I made one out of an old NiCad battery case and just soldered wire from the contact terminals to a female port that an old laptop charger I had could plug into. I cut a hole for the female connector port in the battery case and then held it in place with a bunch of hot glue. The laptop charger is around 19.5v and around 5 amps output if I recall correctly. I had tried another cheap transformer, but it didn't have enough amps to work well.

PM me if you want to any other details as to not gum up the thread.

I called in this last weekend regarding 3 rebates I submitted LAST AUGUST. Rep told me that my rebates had been rejected because my store did not participate. I pushed further and he then claimed that there had been a glitch that rejected rebates en masse, and in fact my store *did* participate. The guy told me that my 3 rebates would be approved and that I would receive an email within a week or so. The rebates are still showing "invalid" online, so we'll see what happens.

I saw 5 of those by front register this morning. Echo hedge trimmer $135.03.

I wish ours would drop. they have the 12/29/16 date on the sticker too. Still 98.03. For $33 they are a great little bluetooth speaker, plus you get Alexa when it's on wifi. Cheaper than a Dot at that 33 Price. Too bad Amazon won't let you undercut them on their own products.

Duracell 250 Lumen flashlight 3 pack for $5.02 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Duracell...?keyword=Duracell+250+Lumen+flashlight+3+pack
Defiant 2 pack focusing led flashlights $2.52 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Defiant-130-Lumen-LED-Flashlight-2-Pack-HD15FL130-2/206580387
LED mini glowstick 4 pack, same as these, I will update sku if anyone needs it (it's out in my car) $1.52

I found a few penny items, scanned one and had it in my bag. One of my other sale items wouldn't scan so I ended up losing them :(

Oh, and I grabbed 3 100 piece mechanic sets. They were up in the storage area with blue tape on them. Asked a nice "cart guy" walking by to grab them for me. They were not in the computer as being in stock, not sure what was up with the blue tape!

Yeah I found some with blue tape on them as well at the top. Not sure why ...

Not really. It's pretty easy to create this type of adapter, and not at all expensive. My guess is they would rather sell more batteries.

I picked one of these last week, as well. I haven't assembled it yet, and am curious about the quality (I had planned on getting the 6' Seville Classics work table from Sam's Club, but figured I'd give this a shot for the price).

For anyone in central Indiana, the Carmel store on Michigan road had five of these left at $149. They were in the overhead outside in the garden area.

There's a lot of good information in this instructable and the comments about it.

That miter saw draws a LOT of current especially on start up. I agree, manufacturers would rather sell batteries than adapters.

Whenever they've approved mine, the changes have always been reflected in the system pretty much instantly. It sounds like the guy just "escalated" your case to management. None of my rebates have ever gotten approved after getting escalated. I've always had to call them back.

Dewalt did make a "plug in battery adapter" at one point (for 24v tools):

A quick stroll through my HD tonight. Nothing groundbreaking, and I think most of this has been posted, but it might help someone.

Now I just need to find one of those Milwaukee 46" bottoms.

Those Dewalt work stand (saw horse) with miter saw brackets are really nice. I have 3. Could be a great buy if the price keeps dropping. I got all mine on clearance at Lowes for cheap.

The included miter saw brackets can be mounted to other power tools either directly or via a plywood platform (e.g., a router table). I've been thinking of using one of the brackets to support my larger Porter-Cable pocket hole jig.
