Which Cornwell Tool?

Cornwell tools are very rare in the UK and are hard to obtain so if I am going to buy something I want it to be as good as or superior to Snap On. So I guess I'm asking what are Cornwell really good at manufacturing. It must be US made and I am in ag. environment so I will not use any auto tools. Probably looking in the wrench,screwdriver, socket,ratchet, striking tool area. Thanks for any help.

Sockets will probably be on par with Snap on. However, imho snap on is superior in every other item.

I would pick up an old style 30t ratchet in your favorite drive. You can pick them up for cheap and are worth a try

I also like the Cornwell 30t rats, but they're probably not as common in the UK as US. For the price of a new one, Snap-on would be a better choice.

X2 on the 30 tooth ratchet. For Ag I would recommend a long handle 1/2" drive.

Thanks, that ratchet suggestion seems unanimous. Any reason to choose the coarser ratchet. I have not used any of the 72/80 tooth ratchets regularly to make a comparison.
Will ring today to see what sort of deal I can get. On the US website it is quoted at $165 so I might get a fright

I have this set and am a big fan. I usually reach for these first and only go to others if I need a specific length handle or use a cheater pipe. CTG3SHHST

The 72 teeth ratchets are made in Taiwan. They are good but might as well buy gear wrench and save money if going that route. The 30teeth ratchets are butter smooth when lubed up and made in USA.

I like the 72t ratchets. Someone above said the 72t were Taiwan made. Originally the body was USA made and the guts were Taiwan made. Now according to the newest catalog the entire thing is USA made. The Cornwell all chrome ratchets are the most comfortable in my hand even better than some comfort grip ratchets. They really do have the best shape of any I have used. Also the screwdrivers are really nice. The German witte made versions. So any of the all chrome ratchets are a must have. Either the 30 or 72 tooth models are awesome

I also like the wrenches & the sockets, but they are not for everyone. Quality wise I think they equal to Snap On. That is just my personal opinion and YMMV.

In all honesty there sockets are so so compared to snap on and like mentioned before there 30 tooth coarse tooth ratchets in chrome are very nice

Punches are nice from them some exclusive sets

But there are a few nice items they offer but outside of there hardline much is rebranding like double flex ratcheting spline are nice

40 inch tool cart is hard to beat for the price here in the us not sure how U.K. Prices are though

And for the money look at hazet stahlwille or facom might be better options for you in the U.K. Which I like there ratchets better

I agree also. They are beautiful.

I also like their spline offset reversible ratcheting wrenches. Very beefy, look and feel like tanks! Teeth on the open end as well. I have both metric and SAE and love them.

Our independent tool truck guy used to be a Cornwell dealer. I don't think he sold much of the real Cornwell hardline. He sold a lot of rebranded and a lot of other manufacturer tools. Indeed the Cornwell flyer itself has a ton of different branded items.

I will say the huge cart they make is probably one of their best items IMHO. The other stuff is nothing special.

Cornwell *****. Plain and simple. Like others have said, some decent hardline, but you can do better and rebranded imports. Why even bother with any of it. IMHO even the USA ratchets are completely unimpressive.

I wouldn't say they **** IMHO. They do re-brand a lot of tools. But they do not charge as much of a premium as other companies do. For example the rotorbroach spot weld cutter set. On the Cornwell truck it was $79.99 . On the Snap on Truck the same set labeled Blue Point was 149.99 . Almost double. They price the import and re-brand stuff very reasonable compared to the other trucks.
