Bendpak XRP10S 2 Post Lift

Finally pulled the trigger & got my lift. Tired of rolling around on a creeper at 57 yrs old. I have done a lot of research, and read a lot of posts. I settled on the Bendpak. The lift came in perfect condition, nicely packaged. The powdercoated finish looks better than the finish on my truck !!. It was drop shipped to a trucking terminal a few miles from my house. I went there with a trailer & they fork loaded it onto the trailer for me. When I got it home, I had my son & a few of his buddies help me unload it. We basically dis-assembled the packaging & moved it one piece at a time into my garage. The heaviest parts were the posts themselves. 2 people can tilt up the posts & wiggle them into position. The lift included 4" anchor bolts, but my floor is over 11" thick, so I went out and bought 10" anchor bolts (overkill). The Bendpak has both a narrow & wide configuration. I had to use the narrow configuration, as there is a beam in the way. I have no clearance issues getting in & out of vehicles when I put them on the lift. It was very simple & straightforward to set up. I've had 4 or 5 vehicles on it & so far no issues.

It's nice to see a post like this. For every one of these there's three people on GJ who seemingly can't seem to figure it out, had to hire a professional installer, couldn't figure out how to transport it, etc etc blah blah

I often wonder how many people on here actually own tools (and possess common sense) - - and how those purchasing a 2 post lift don't have the mechanical moxie to put up a 2 post lift.

I put up my own (and to the OP - my name comes from the year of my first car, which I still have, and yes it is a GTO, and my last name). The biggest challenge for me was that i have 8' ceilings. But I cut a hole in them (I have trussed joists, so teh floors are thick enough), and boxed in the top.

But basically, I used an engine hoist (aka cherry picker) to lift up the posts. They are bottom heavy, so I was able to run a strap around the middle and stand up them. It really wasn't that tough.

Mine is an Atlas I got from Greg Smith. Mainly use it for the race car (Porsche 944), and I had to make it a little narrow. But I have put on my daily driver (BMW 5 series) for oil changes. I'm certainly very happy with it. Would highly, highly recommend to anyone mulling it over to do so.

Who's Eric the car guy ???., I did bodywork for 30 yrs, used to drag race, & my father had a couple of Model A's. that I helped him restore starting when I was 13yrs old. I "retired" to being an Insurance appraiser about 18 yrs ago. My tools have sat in my garage collecting dust for the past 15 yrs. Now that my son is 17 and has a Monte Carlo. I'm teaching him the ropes, starting him out doing the basics, tune up, struts, hub & bearings, etc. I have spent the last 3 weeks cleaning out my boxes, throwing out all the **** in the junk drawers, putting new drawer liners in, and organizing all of my tools. I also painted the garage, put the lift in, and hung a few cabinets. At least now when I need to work on something, i will be able to find my tools.
