Does anyone have any experience with the Matco D36F?

Looking for a longer breaker bar for these rusty bolts that are giving me hell to to end. I'm also trying to persue a Jon in the diesel industry so would co,e in handy for bolts that require a high torque rating with an additional turn after the fact. I'm also open to any other brand suggestions.

Thanks!

I use a Craftsman 3/4" drive 18" breaker bar with a 3 foot black iron pipe over the handle. No complaints & it hasn't broken yet. In the past I've used it with 5 foot black iron pipe doing among other things, upper ball joints on a 90 D250.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I have that Matco breaker bar, I've used to break loose track bolts on 39' dozer that had been sitting so long a 20"'diameter oak had grown between the back of the blade and the grill on my friends father inlaw's farm.

My SnapOn CT6850 wouldn't loosen them and neither would my CP 3/4" impact. So I grabbed that breaker bar and hung all 350 lbs/6'3" of my petite frame on that bar over a dozen times, it flexed a little but it was straight once I was done, so it gets a thumbs up from me.

I haven't broke it. Ever since matco redesign their head to get away from the same weak *** drive as craftsman, they have one strong breaker bar.

As another option, SK makes a 36" 3/4 drive breaker bar that is half the price of the Matco one. SK 47157 for about $120-$130, and still made in the USA.

Tekton also makes a very nice 3/4 drive breaker bar that is about 40". Very strong, comes from Taiwan, but only about $50. Tekton 15359

If you're going to pay tool truck prices, then I would go for the Snap On. You have to buy two pieces (handle and the 3/4 drive head attachment), but the nice part is that the handles are interchangeable in the breaker bar attachment and the ratchet attachment. Ironically comes out to be cheaper than Matco too... You'd need the Snap On L872RM (36" handle with knurled handle, $118) and the Snap On L8112A 3/4 drive breaker bar head ($114). $232 total, and you can buy the shorter handle L872RJ a later time, and buy the L872 3/4 drive ratchet also at a later time.

Get a Swench. It's like a slugging wrench, but no flailing with a sledgehammer. The 1" drive version claims 2000 foot pounds.

I have an older snap on L72 with a 42" handle. If the newer snapon is as good I would skip the breaker bar head and just get the ratchet. I have had a six foot pipe on it and me bouncing (235lbs) and never broke it. Change many of bud wheel this way. The wright railroad 42" is a good ratchet as well and would be what I would have bought if I had not been gifted my snappy.

I have a 42" grip or some low end import and I love it. I can take mower blades off that my 1/2" Matco gun at 150psi won't touch. It was a Christmas gift about 7 years ago I think my sister paid 39.99 for it.

I have a Craftsman sliding T I have had for 20 years, I just got a Mitol (I think that's how it's spelled) 3/4" ell wrench Friday.

Get something 3/4" and get the longest one you can get
