I've come into some old Harris OA equipment...

...and I'd like to put it into service if possible and it makes economic sense. Problem is, I'm coming up blank on some of it. These two pieces for starters:

(Sorry for the super size image. I'll figure this out eventually.)

The torch handle is a Harris Model 2000. It has a sticker that says "Ireland". The cutting attachment is a Harris 3100.

These came out of a high school metal shop and haven't been used in at least twenty years, along with the rest of the OA setup - tanks, regulators, cart, hose, another torch handle, etc. I've never used OA, but would like to get a working setup for my garage at home. I got everything for free.

My internet searches yielded virtually no useful information. I think my next step is to contact regulatortorchrepair.com and see what they have to say, but I thought I'd ask here first. I'd like to find out where on the food chain these pieces fall as far as quality and capacity (light, medium, heavy).

That's a good quality unit. About the best you can get unless you buy a dedicated cutting torch. I would suggest you run propane instead of acytalene. It's safer, cheaper and really works great. You might need to get a new hose set as propane requires different hose then A. Then a tip change and your uniqueness.

If your regulators haven't been used in twenty years, you should probably get them rebuilt. Find out which LWS in your area carries whatever brand they are, and they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

Came with a nearly full tank of acetylene, I think. I'll know when I get a gauge on it. If so, I'll stick with that for now.

And yes, I am unique. :)

Might give a call to Harris tomorrow. See if I can get a spec sheet on the torch or some info from them.

Was planning on rebuilding the regs. The O2 is a Harris 25-100. I opened it up and, although it looks intact, it's full of dust and crud. The Acty is a big ol' Airco. Couldn't find a model number on it anywhere.
