I have no info on the pump. No tags or ID's.

It's a monster. :)

Everything seams to work good and makes pressure. What might the cone shaped thing in the third pic with the small lines going to it be? Trying to figure out what size motor I'm going to need.

Thanks
Wade

Years ago I was a tech for a Champion dealer, but that was back in the '90's. Best thing I can say is find a dealer and try to match it up. They might be able to tell you what RPM the pump should run at. That will help you determine what pulley the motor should have as well as the RPM of the motor. I can't say much more other than those are a good compressor.

Thanks for your help. I looked on the web at the models and the 10 and 15 look about the same in pics, no wat of comparing. Anyone have one that could take some measerments maybe?

the thing on the side is a cetrifugal govenor

can you measure the pulley diameter?
and estimate the bore(s) diameter (2 of them, 2 stage)

Its a centrifugal unloader. When the pump is at rest, it is porting the pressure that is trapped on top of the head, off to atmosphere. As soon as the pump starts to rotate, the valve closes (due to the flyweights inside) and allows the pump to build pressure. Often, the pressure being vented off at shutdown is ported to and used as muscle air to open a tank drain valve. As soon as the head pressure depletes, the tank drain closes back up.

the exploded parts list/drawing I have describes it as a 'govenor'...
Item 25, NR 36 113, Housing, Govenor...
which imho is a more appropriate description
it keeps a constant load on the machine when air demand varies
it also, as you said, allows the machine to start unloaded

Ok the flywheel in 16 1/2" in dia. Guessing on the size of the pistons but it looks like the small one is around 3" and the bigger one is about 4 1/2"

Also how should I clean the valves? Guessing they are under the elbos that bolt to the head? will I need gaskets?

It looks simmilar to my r15. Your going to need a new air filter, its about $30. It takes... 4 quarts of oil. I just fired mine up after cleaning it up. Great compressor. 18+cfm

Garder Denver for sure.

Looks like an "R-Series", Splash lubricated, Disc valve.

Not top of of the line but no POS either
