Help us understand how.

I paid for it online using a $15 off coupon, bringing it to right around $75. Once I got to the store, the side of the box was hanging off and they couldn't figure out how to reattach it. So I asked if there was any extra discount and they gave me an additional $15 off. I really lucked up with this purchase.

Anyone ever have any luck with getting neighboring stores to match online price? My closest store is at full price but the next closest store is $89, but shows no store pickup or shipping.

Yes, so far I've gotten mine to price match everything I find on here.
I picked up 8 of those T8 8ft lights the other day for $5 (lowest price i could still find after the post was deleted)

The 314-piece kits aren't available anywhere in VA.

Seems like Mid-Atlantic is very late to adopt.

They were all throughout the Richmond locations. A friend of mine bought two last night and three this morning. He said they had the quantity at the two stores he purchased from. There were two left at the location I bought mine from, yesterday.

Use lowes for pros discount to get additional 10% off and then add a filler for a couple bucks

I don't think it is, the only decent pieces are the sockets and they are not even that good. The case takes way too much space as well. I am sure some people may have a good use for what it comes with, but with no screw drivers or usable wrenches, I just don't get it.

The regular price on the 3 ratchets alone is $75. Even for $119 it's a good price. Yeah there are some fillers so it's really more of a 250 piece set. But if you get it for $89, you are paying less than $.50 per piece. That's a very good price.

I bought my set mostly for the 6 point and 12 point sockets it came with. At the $60 I paid, I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

Good deal not great deal on that Kobalt cube kit. I leave one in my trailer now instead of a bunch of loose more expensive tools.

Did you get a coupon to stack with the lowes for pros discount? When I try I get:
"An invalid promotion code was entered: 470004521871182. Please check the entered Promotion Code and click Apply."

No, I wish I could have gotten that extra 10% but I couldn't get another coupon to work. If you do, please let me know how you did it!

I got a little bored (and frustrated) this afternoon needing to use a coupon code. Lots of places online telling you just use random digits in certain places and some people acting like they are special because they figured out how to generate codes but won't share an excel file. Or tell you to buy them on eBay, or donate to some website... blah blah blah...

The latest expiration info can be found In this thread on SD.

Explanation of the codes... Basically out of the first 14 digits contain some numbers that don't change, 4 digits that change regularly based on when a code expires, and several that can be randomly generated. The 15th digit is a check bit based on the previous 14. I kept finding references to the luhn algorithm, which was *kind* of pointing in the right direction. However, the last bit is actually calculated with a 3x Weighted Average.

You can use a couple sites to calculate the last digit if you want to do it yourself:

http://www.morovia.com/bulk-check-digit-calculation/index.php
or
http://www.truetto.com/

So I made a simple excel file that will auto-generate the various coupon codes for you. Right now I have a VBA macro to calculate the check bit, so yes you will have to activate macros. You can press ALT-F11 to see the small bit of code. I'm fiddling around trying to get the same feature crammed into just a regular excel cell with no macro, but honestly I don't have that much free time and this works fine.

I put when the codes expire (based on the SD thread), so you can edit the first column and replace the 4 digits with new ones when they get posted and continue to generate your own codes... Basically first column generates a code, second column calculates the check bit and is the code you would paste into your shopping cart on Lowes.

I had to zip the excel file because the forum doesn't allow uploading excel files directly. I saved it as an old-format XLS in case some people are running 2003 still. Enjoy...

EDIT - Removed the download, feel free to PM me though.

Looks like Carry-On Trailers are at a steep discount right now. The Lowes website shows them ranging from 20% to 47% off. Granted these are pretty cheap trailers as-is, they could be great for yard work or short hauls.

Unfortunately for me, it looks like that sale doesnt apply in Alaska. Where it usually shows local inventory, the website states "Due to local prohibitions, this item is not currently sold in your area"

https://www.lowes.com/pl/Trailers-Trailers-ramps-Automotive/4294641556?searchTerm=trailer

Edit: I just called my local Lowes and they have quite a few of several models in stock. All with the discount.

this might not be a big deal for the lower 48ers but trailers are spendy as heck up here. I'll probably pick a few of them up.

I have been eyeing the little 3.5x5 for use behind my Jeep and my little Power King tractor. Just scored one for $349 using the $50 off $250 code I generated.

That's cool, but you know there's already a Google spreadsheet that does this, in addition to numerous Excel sheets? :)

I used a google spreadsheet for a while, but the guy wasn't always keeping up when they expired, and you couldn't copy/paste them, and they auto-refreshed once a minute, it was just a pain to use. Likewise every excel sheet / formula I found was using random digits for the 15th digit so you had to try numerous ones before finding the one that worked, and hoping that it wasn't already used.

This file I made generates a valid code every time, assuming it isn't already used, and refresh is as easy as pressing F9. You can also directly copy/paste the code.

Just trying to help some people out, nobody is forcing you to use it.
