Im wanting a 3/8 guts in a 1/4 ratchet body. Is this a custom deal or is it something Snap on makes/made. Ultimately I would want the longest 1/4 flex head snapon makes with 3/8 guts

Please help a fellow tool junkie out.

Pic for reference stolen from Caper in the "ratchet ****" thread

They make it!!!! But you can mod your existing ratchet if you have one.

FCF936 was the old part number which has been discontinued. I would imagine if it is reinstated, it would be an FCF72. Not a very common item.

But they still make the FC936 and you can purchase the parts and mod it.

FC936 shows to be discontinued as well. All ratchets are now the dual 80 design. A TF936 and the RKRFC936 kit should do it. The TF936 is discontinued as well but should be easier to locate.

Doesn't Wright make a 3/8 gear in a 1/4 body? I seem to recall some people on "another forum" raving about them.

A little off topic but the quick release ratchets are still 36 tooth design. They are in the November flyer up here in the great white north.

I stand corrected. I bet that sales are limited to quantities on hand. They are probably trying to move the existing inventory before the start production on the new model.

Can you give a part number so the OP can search the Wright catalog?

Don't have it handy at the moment, but my ratchet list says Wright 3430. And that's a regular length 1/4 drive handle, not a long and/or flex handle.

That was one of my favorite Snap-on tools, came in real handy. I have the Cornwell version now. SO discontinued it, big surprise there.:spit: Thank goodness for Cornwell, they don't mess with their original hardline as of yet. I have an old 1/4 inch drive SO speeder ratchet, nice piece, I bought rebuild kits for them when I bought them new, good thing, that was also discontinued. It is my favorite, "engine on stand" ratchet. ARGH SO has really pissed me off, good thing they don't need me to make their numbers. They made some phenomenal stuff, no wonder the older SO tools get such a premium on ebay these days. My favorite spinner handle is a lond hard handle SO one, also discontinued. I was great for long reach, for hose clamps, etc.......

So would I be correct in saying that the RKRFC936 rebuild kit WONT fit in any of snapons current 72 tooth 1/4 ratchet offerings?

Is that rebuild kit complete? No pic on SO website.

My local Snap-on dealer had a FHC737 on the truck a few weeks ago. It seemed like a very nice ratchet. I have a SK3767 flex head compact 3/8" ratchet that I use the most out of the ones I own. I wouldn't mind trying a Wright 3440 which is the flex head version of the 3430 (which is a sweet little ratchet)
