Bob how true it is. You found the secret to happiness in a marriage. :bounce:

Hey, I love vets too, how about opening those doors and post us a picture.:)

The best part of having the three-car is pulling the two new(er) ones out so the center bay is wide open. If the creeper was just a little softer, I'd probably sleep under the '72.:)

Here's mine...almost finished (mostly a DIY project). Over the holidays I'll plan to put together a build thread. It's 26 x 24 x 10, with a 9' overhang in front.

And yes, I read Garage Journal every day for a year before I broke ground!

Hey FastT, that is a great looking place. Definately doesn't look like anything around me. Here's mine just to prove it. Mine is just as plain as everyone complains about, but at least its mine and in about 3-4 decades, i will be able to finish it out and enjoy it! First pic is of my shop last winter after the one of the two times it snowed. The second is just an everyday exterior.

Hey jktruck150, thanks for the compliment. I planned this place for a long time and its just starting to come together. I won't have it heated yet this winter when the snow flys here, but it should be tight enough to get some work done inside. I'm working on electric now then isulation. It could take me 3 or 4 decades too, but i'm having fun doing it. I have gotten so many good ideas from this site!

I'm glad to see this thread pop up to the top again. Lots of forgotten garages and lots of members that haven't been around in awhile.

More like a workshop than a garage, I can only dream right now I can build me a bigger garage one day. The wood is off of a barn that was built in 1901, the doors used to be one big door and it was two feet taller. The 2*8 beams were 29 feet long and we had access to this place for three years. Had a lot of fun, O and the overhangs are 63 caddy hoods.

Lovin the styling on this one

Very interesting design

Thank you... I have a ton of pics on the build. I need to shrink them up so I can upload them. Working on the photo album. The upstairs is a loft for working ect. The windows upstairs face south so all day we get natural light which is what I wanted. The downstairs is for cars, lawnmower and ****.

The wife picked red and I’m glad she did. Everyone up there is going with neutral colors for their buildings so this thing just pops out!

I really enjoy this website, and will contribute what i can to it.

'been lurking here for a while, but finally a thread which I could add something interesting to. I have a mess of a full-on restoration inside the garage so I'll wait 'til it's straightened up a bit before I open the door.

Awesome! I love this thread. It's neat to see what many of you have.

Here's my shop in its current state. It's newly aquired and have done very little since buying the house. The first priority was the remodel of the house and then, once I'm done with that, I'll move onto the garage addition, to match the house.

House and Garage.JPG

Here's when we got the house.

1 down 1 to go.jpg

Knocked these trees and a whole lotta brush to make way for the shop addition.

View.jpg

I've got a decent view. The addition will be in the space to the left. Pretty much, I'll be adding another garage that's exactly the same width, but longer. The roof will come off and a new roof (with a lesser pitch) will be added spanning the width of the building.

DSC00627.jpg

Here's the lot cleared, finally. Still a bunch to do before the shop begins. I'm going to do a privacy fence, a stone patio, rework the sprinkler system, etc.

At one point, this was the main living structure on the property before the owner built the house. The garage door wasn't added until many years later. It was always planned to be a garage eventually so there was a wooden wall with a door where the current door is hung. Great planning by that man.
