pretty good haul at the yard sales this weekend, among the hoard was this little machine the seller had no clue about, other than it gets hot. paid $5 for it just because...

anyone know what it is used for? I did find the company website but it is sparse on details. it was listed in the tire tools section. what would one heat up with this thing that has to do with tires?

Everhard products KPG series heaters is what I found...

Well, it could be used for hot patches on rubber tires, but that's not all.

It is also used on antique furniture restoration. It can be used to heat putty knives for working with shellac sticks. That's a great way to blend in fixes on cracks and damage. Shellac is similarly used on instrument repair, where I could see this being helpful, and by jewelers (not sure how it would help them).

But if you can't see yourself using it, I'd be happy to double your money. ;)
