That looks like the exact same one I have in my garage in pieces. The unfortunate bit and at least the reason I didn't really find any use for mine is that it has the "auto tensioning" system they came up with for what I assume was a very short period on it. Most of those bandsaws you'll see have a knob coming out the top. If it doesn't it is auto tensioning. At least on mine it had so little tension that it was fairly useless for cutting. I tried removing the top wheel mount assembly and tightening the screw on the tension mechanism adjuster but it still was no good. If it needs new tires though those are easy to grab off eBay and they fit it well.

Actually I would call the FBI, this seems more of a federal crime to me!! You ****! I saw one of these recently for $100, without the stand, and I felt that was a pretty good deal. Way to go and enjoy!

Wow... Looks like I've gotta go out there and inventory everything and list it. Maybe I could make enough to buy a more turn key modern bandsaw. My garage is ridiculously small I don't have room for a project tool like that to lay around. I constantly wish that I had a working bandsaw.

I've watched the auctions on ebay. The parts don't sell very quickly. Small market, most people don't believe in "old stuff".

What is the model number? Sears Parts Direct has some weird stuff sometimes. Sometimes ebay has something usable. They are readilly available from many sources What does the switch look like? You have to provide a little more info. Switches come in an unlimited variety. Unless somebody has the same saw, we have no idea what you need. It is like saying I need a bulb or a tire. Take a picture of the switch.

Nice saw, BTW, and I have one missing the blade insert (easy to make, I know, but lazy sets in) and I have only wing nuts for the front cover. I don't think that's the original miter gauge because of the 45º on the RH side which is for a table saw with the blade cutting at an angle.
But I'll go along with the crowd and give a provisional "****."

It was not obvious that you were not replacing a switch but adding one. Check out. https://www.mlcswoodworking.com/
Look at their item 1727, Router table switch. It is a box with mounting tabs with a switch, receptacle and a cord . Mount it on an angle bracket off one of the base mounting bolts. Plug the saw into the box, the box into wall and turn it on. No wiring required. At $19.95, it is probably cheaper than the parts, if you built it with parts from Home Depot. and I think they still have free shipping.

No Switch - No Problem -
Last week I did another search on the local CL for bandsaws, and the top one was a vintage Craftsman 103.24260. Pictures looked ok, but didn't show too much detail. It's a 12" model and had a 1/3 hp Craftsman motor installed, for $70. Mounted on the original stand and had a light.
What I didn't see was the Slo-Speed Converter on the other side! I'd been looking around at reduction gearboxes but this negates that entirely. The cover's missing and it's mounted like ****, but it's there and it works. I'm not sure why it's different than most I saw online where you move a pulley in and out, though. This one just has two separate pulleys.
The rest of the saw's ok. Needs tires, blades, rewiring, and maybe some bearings.
Also picked up the little 1/4 hp block grinder recently from a guy at work, in pretty darn good shape!

I'm still on my first cup of coffee for the morning but I'm not seeing what the purpose of this is. Can somebody enlighten me gently please? Is it a clutch or brake of some sort?

Having the stand and the motor mount is priceless. You did an outstanding job and yes you do ****!!!!!!
Ok. Blade broke. Need a new blade. What other parts should I get? Want to redo this. Need a switch, right now you plug it in and it rips. Will be repainting and stuff too. What about the Roller part near the work surface that the blade is guided in? Can you get replacement parts for it?
