OK..............the product "reviews" for Seville Classic garage cabinets were ~unanimously positive!! Lots of thumbs-up feedback here, on the Sam's Club site (I suppose it was some of you who responded ) and at Seville.

So, I bit the bullet........and ended up with 6 pieces total. I guess I have to order the wall cabinets separately from Sam's on-line. Turned out to be less than $200 per piece, including a new Sam's Club membership and sales tax.

Two tall vertical cabinets, a workbench, 2 small under-bench cabinets & a rolling workbench w/a couple of drawers plus peg board wall attached to it.

Looks like a lot of assembly to do.......and then the dreaded garage clean-up & reorganization to put away all the stuff the cabinets are for in the first place!!

I was at Sam's today and was looking at the workbench with the pegboard and wooden top. Looked pretty good for the money. I pulled out a drawer, released it and removed it and noticed it was all roller bearing. It has casters so you can move it around the garage then lock the wheels when you have it where you want it. Pretty neat workbench. I want one.

I have some like these but bigger, mine are 24 deep x48 wide & the door/drawers are reversed. Mine have the drawers on the left & the cabinet on the right. I think I paid about $160 each for em ( I have 2). They also have the handle on the ends, not the front.

BTW - Sam's Club doesn't take "VISA"?? Discover, Mastercard and debit. Who doesn't take VISA these days? I suppose it helps them market their own Discover Card........spare me. EVERYBODY else in the universe takes VISA. Ugh......another Walmart "conspiracy".

Taking Visa costs them money, of course their own card doesn't. To keep prices low they don't accept them. I hate to say it but it makes sense. I have a costco and sam's card and I only use sam's because they are better suited for my business needs (vending). Costco blows in that respect. Now that sam's has changed their electronics policy to 90 days I think I will be checking out what Costco has more for electronics.
I want that work bench that Seville makes. I'm hoping the wife will get me one for X-mas.

Costco doesn't take anything but cash and debit aside from their own (or is it all?) AmEx. judging from the LONG lines and huge crowds no one seems to care.

My gun shop adds 4% to your sale if you use a credit card, but nothing additional for debit.
My uncle's restaurant gets charged 5% to take a card over the phone and 2.5% to take one in person. when you start talking about weddings that push the $10k mark it really adds up!

Yes, I know CC's cost the vendor money. But they take Mastercard, anybody's Discover plus their own Discover Card (or whatever it is.......yes, Discover) VISA debit cards, etc.. Plus, at their volumes, across all of Walmart, I bet they pay a really reduced CC fee rate (maybe 2%, maybe less, but not the full shot that smaller businesses/smaller sales volume pay, that's for sure. Also, if you go to Walmart themselves, they take everything.....so who knows. But Sam's takes a VISA debit card......which, in effect, costs them some kind of transaction fee, even for essentially cash, I suppose....go figure).

I was just surprised since I charge everything on a Visa Card, never use cash........so I whipped out the GM Mastercard that hasn't been used in ~4 yrs. and bought 'em!! But, whatever.

Their club is typically not as good as BJ's here in this area, in my opinion (we have no COSTCO) and is ~14mi. farther away! So for the usual consumables, it would not be a good deal.....however, for garage cabinets (and maybe this tool box, it MATCHES ) it was worth the membership investment!! This in fact may be a one time Sam's Club purchase......couldn't think of anybody that had a card there.

The credit card companies know they are getting a bigger piece of the pie with being the only credit card accepted. In turn Costco and Sam's can offer even better pricing as they don't have to pay as much to the credit card companies.

Of course, Sam's has discounted fee structures and get special rates on their own cards.......it's just that I had never heard of someone who does not taking VISA. BJ's, in our area, takes everything and has their own card, as well. Plus, the Walmart parent stores take VISA and they are literally next door to the Sam's Club. Walmart is a money making machine and I am sure it just increases their margins/revenues.

They may have some good prices, like they did for my Seville Classic cabinets, but they make sure they hold their margins where it is best for them. Still amazing volumes.....and, things are cheaper. Compared to Sears Craftsman/Craftsman Pro, Geneva, Gladiator, etc., these certainly are a bargain. They're not as good as the best out there, but many features are better. For instance, what I noticed about the 6ft. workbench was the square tube legs/cross members.......welded and powder-coated. Some of the Sears workbenches were just formed sheet metal legs for maybe, ~$100 more, even on sale. Even with my labor to assemble, it would seem that they are a steal.

Speaking of Walmart, I looked at their Ulti-Mate brand as I walked through the store. Pressed wood/particle board cabinets, MDF or something, coated with urethane, I think. The 6ft cabinet was ~ $40-50 less than the stainless/powder-coated cabinet I bought from Sam's. No comparison, even with the price difference. On the other hand, Tide detergent was $10/100oz. - a total bargain from Walmart!

So, what did we learn so far, grasshopper? But stainless garage cabinets from Sam's Club, but don't bring your VISA card, because they won't take it!.........and, for cheap Tide laundry detergent, go to Walmart.....and BRING your VISA card!! WEEEEEEEE!

Tomorrow is cabinet assembly day (or at least the "first day" of assembly days................we'll see how it all works out!).

Not bad.......although, it's a set. Also, they are laminate covered wood, not steel. Hard to tell......can only look at Costco.com. BTW, Costco has a few other types......some are very expensive (aka, MBI brand, looks very nice).

Will do.........assembly starting today. (But first, some Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titan/well, the "old" Houston Oilers", football!)

Looks like a weeks worth of air ratchet & power driver use!! So many panels & bolts......so little time. Just charged up the Makita cordless driver & have the air tools standing by! (Just hope nothing is dented in the boxes......spent some time looking for ones without fork lift tine marks in them!!

I fired mine up over the weekend too, thanks to the talks about Seville Classics in threads last week. The smaller cabinet took the most time, followed by the tall cabinet. The bench is quick and simple. This is my 15x20 Man Cave within my 50x30 garage. It was just finished 3 weeks ago and got 200 amp service (first power hook up) just a week ago today.

They are packed with lost of care. Seriously, you could not ask for more protection. They are wraped in plastic with lots of styrofoam around all parts!

Still need to get me a stool they sell (not at my local sams club though....

Perfect timing for this post ! ! I have been looking at these cabinets for a while now, and was wondering about them also, but now I am definitely gonna go for it. It seems that for the price you can't beat it and all of you guys who have them have nothing bad to say about them.I stopped by the Sam's club by my house and it seems that they don't carry the whole line, whatever pieces they don't carry I guess I'll have to go directly through Seville. Can't wait to get mine ! !

From what I can tell........Sam's carries the tall,6ft. (Ultra HD) cabinet, the shorter rolling cabinets w/wood top (Ultra HD), their workbench with wood top and a rolling workbench with wood top & pegboard attached. They all match.

The wall cabinets are available through Sam's on-line or Seville Classics, only. I believe that can be shipped via UPS, hence, the on-line availability (watch out for shipping costs, I'm guessing ~$20/25 per wall cabinet to the East coast, anyway).

All in all..........nice stuff!

OK - today's progress in assembling Seville Classics Garage Cabinets from Sam's Club!

I have 6 pieces to assemble.....two tall cabinets, two shorter/under workbench cabinets, a 6ft. workbench w/hardwood top and a rolling workbench with hardwood top & pegboard back.

Only put together ONE 6ft. cabinet today (after the Bills loss to the Titans......what a debacle, after being tied for most of the game! Ugh.....)

Anyway, assembly time for this one cabinet was ~2.5hrs. or a little more. LOTS OF SCREWS........however, pieces fit very well together, instructions were excellent, alignment was good for stamped/formed sheet metal, the doors align, lock works and it has BIG CASTERS! Monster 5" units.....industrial strength, two with brakes!

Overall, aside from the time to complete, it worked out very, very well for the first unit. No dings or bent parts & I only marred it a tiny bit while aligning the doors. Great!

Here's a pic. of the completed 6ft. cabinet. Others to come, as they are built & moved into place (which will force me to clean up the garage and store stuff away; aka, what storage cabinets are for!).

More later............this may take all week, although I am told that the workbenches "fly" in comparison to the tall & small cabinets.

Was all set to start driving screws with my electric or air drivers......but, wasn't worth it, so all were screwed together by hand. And, they included a magnetic screwdriver that actually was pretty good!

You are right.....packaging was very good (as long as you picked one out without visible damage). Neatly packaged, all covered in PE wrap and THE STYROFOAM. Lot's of.

Like you said, the good news is that the benches should go together much more easily than the cabinets. I think I'll save them for last.........I'll need a break by them.

Later this week, I'll go to Sears and examine some of the other Sears sold alternatives for construction differences so I can add some first hand information to the price point vs. value discussion. In any case, I am pretty sure the price-value ratio for these will still be on top. They had better be....they'll be assembled by then!

The tall cabinet to me was not too bad. I hated the shorter cabinet the most........Did all screws by hand. Some of them would have been hard to reach via my drill, but for sure I could have used it on some of them.

Well, the assembly "saga" continues...................as other posters have said, there are hours and hours of assembly work and about a million screws to put these cabinets/benches together.

However, so far (5 of 6 pieces), the quality has been excellent, terrific instructions, no dings, fit is good, drawers work well, drawer liners & magnetic screwdrivers for assembly included and they look very nice. Plenty sturdy enough for storage cabinets & the workbenches are bulletproof!! Highly recommended!!

One more small, rolling cabinet to go. Another, ~3hrs. or so. It's not difficult at all.....just a lot of pieces, plus a little extra time to make sure things are pretty square and all the stamped holes line up, given tolerances. Tomorrow, it will be done. Then, on to rearranging the garage to have them fit nicely. That may be the hardest part.

Here's a few more photos. Note, I've left some of the wrapping material on top of the butcher block tops. They are too nice (as good or better than kitchen quality) to just bang up.........I'm going to buy some fiberboard for covering.

Note, I've left some of the wrapping material on top of the butcher block tops. They are too nice (as good or better than kitchen quality) to just bang up.........I'm going to buy some fiberboard for covering.

Yes, I think the price point is pretty good for the quality cabinet and benches I got. As one other owner said, the amazing piece(s) is the bench(es). Very stout. Very!!!

Re: the tops............yes, Lexan would be lovely, but....in that size, kind of expensive and, I think, not quite as durable for garage use. A 4'x8' sheet of fiberboard is like $6.50 at The Home Depot. So, I think I'll go that way. But you're right, would be nice to see the butcher block all the time. It is nice!

Last cabinet tonight.............and another hundred screws to drive!

I had previously used Lexan as mentioned above. It did not hold up to chemicals. Lexan melted when I spilled some paint remover on it as well as the hardener used with an automotive clearcoat. I ultimately went with aluminum and it's working out really well.

Finished the last cabinet tonight - the cabinets (small ones) take almost ~3hrs. each to complete. Can't move any faster with air tools or electric drivers.......hand tightened all "100" screws per. Ugh.....

BUT, I did HAVE MY FIRST PROBLEM! On the last cabinet, two of the ball bearing drawer tracks were defective (one had a broken tang that acts as a stop.............the second, one of the bearing slides was 'crinkled" and a bearing doesn't roll. As a result, the drawer won't close. I could replace the tracks iF I could get the screws un-tightened from the factory. They are so tight that I basically stripped the phillip's headed screw trying to remove it............won't budge, either rail. BTW, for a small, nearly stripped phillip's headed screw like that, have any trick methods of removing it?? (especially since it's inside the cabinet and to get both hands on it will require that I disassemble the whole cabinet....................ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE HELPFUL!

Hopefully, my email to Seville will get me new parts shortly.

Otherwise, the cabinets are pretty nice and seemingly, a good value. The downside is so much hand assembly....and the time. Perhaps, if they were more expensive, there be more welded pieces & less assembly - but that's a price trade-off, I guess.

And, yes, I need to cover the butcher block tops. I don't think Lexan is a good idea, one poster suggested aluminum.........my answer is fiber hard board at $6.50 a sheet....it will cover both benches. I have it on my other giant wooden bench over particle board and it has held up many years.

Let me know about the "screw issue". It my dilemma is easy to imagine....otherwise, i could get a close-up. Bottom line is how to remove a phillip's head screw where the head has been messed up!

Craftsman toolchest for instances stainless steel topchest and bottom rollaway... Their steel is muchhhh thicker so much nicer than Sam's club stuff. Otherwise wall cabs, bench table ..sam's is the one to go for it.
