In the process of building a dog kennel (3m X 3m) for our new family member Brittany Spaniel. Prepared the site Thursday afternoon 30th March, poured concrete Saturday 1st April and left it covered in black plastic for a fortnight. Watered it frequently during those 2 weeks. As you can see I'm not a concreter, but I pretend to be one on weekends.
Saturday 29th April acid etched the concrete and used ammonia to neutralise (can't find the pics).
Decided to go Polyurethane as this will be exposed to the sun during certain times of the day.
Saturday 6th May gave the floor a good sweep & applied primer coat of thinned Polyurethane tinted.
A few bubbles appeared but I sanded them followed by methylated spirits wipe. Sunday afternoon applied second tinted coat followed by vinyl flakes.
I was going to apply the first clear coat this afternoon but it's still a bit tacky so will wait till tomorrow afternoon or maybe Wednesday. Weather has been ~20C during the day, but nights have been cold.
Once finished I'll wait 7 days and erect the dog kennel, roof, etc... Should be pretty nice for him or me if I'm kicked out.
