Well after many months of reading up about Epoxy vs Floor Tiles on this forum as well as from my fellow Corvette enthusiasts on http://corvetteforum.com, I finally made a decision.
I went with RaceDeck CircleTrac and I am not looking back!!!!
It was really a matter of RaceDeck having more pros and Epoxy having more cons.
I worked with Jennifer (very, very nice lady) at Snaplock (Maker of RaceDeck, GarageDeck, GarageTrac, MotoFloor, etc) (SnapLock # 800-457-0174) and got a heck of a deal. Apparently RaceDeck was at the SEMA car show last week and had a promotion going on that they let me have even though it ended on Friday. The promotion is pretty good as the tiles normally cost $3.49 to $3.29. They let me have the tiles for $2.69!!!!!! I thought that it was a pretty awesome deal. I was told that if folks from GarageJournal or CorvetteForum call them up and ask they can get the same deal as well. Not sure how long they will honor that, so if you are on the fence about RaceDeck and just needed to get the price down, then I would call them right away.
They also give you free edging on one side (likely front or where the door is) which is another $40-$50 in savings on a two car garage!!!!
I did my entire 19 X 21 garage for $1,112 shipped (including two parking assists which were $50 for the pair). Yes, this is a lot of money for garage flooring, but for me it was worth it due to the labor (and countless hours) required to prep and paint the floor, as well as the worry that if my tires end up peeling up the paint, that I will be in for a heck of a time trying to chemically remove the paint or use some sort of sanding process. Again tiles had more pros than cons for me as compared to epoxy.
Snaplock also has other deals for those that are more budget conscious. They sell through a website called http://www.bigfloors.com and on that site you can get private label (essentially RacDeck generic) tiles which are also made by Snaplock. It is like getting a Sam's Cola instead of a Coke. I purchased some samples and they look pretty good, but you can tell that they are a slightly lower quality than the full blown thing. Still seems to be a pretty good tile if you need to keep the project within a specific budget.
Below is the info from http://www.bigfloors.com:
GarageDeck - $1.98
GarageTrac - $2.09
MotoFloor - $2.39
Full blown RaceDeck (Circle or Diamond) - $2.69 (With SEMA promotion)
I ordered some samples of the GarageDeck and it is very similar to the RaceDeck CircleTrac, but just a little bit lower in height and the circles are smaller. I was also advised that they would give me 10% off of the GarageDeck if I chose to buy it which lowers the price down to $1.72 a tile which is a great deal in my book. This is probably also part of the SEMA promotion so if you want to try to get that deal you probably need to do it soon).
So with the 10% off the prices would go down to:
GarageDeck - $1.78
GarageTrac - $1.88
MotoFloor - $2.15
Full blown RaceDeck (Circle or Diamond) - $2.69 (With SEMA promotion)
Pretty good deals either way you go if you are in the market for tiles. Again it is a lot of money, but it seems to add a lot to the look of the garage and if you move you can take it with you. Above all else I get my weekends back by getting to enjoy my garage rather than spending several weekends trying to prep, etch and paint and hoping and praying that the paint does not peel.
Everything I have read as well as what I tested with the sample tiles tells me that I can very likely install these tiles in my entire garage in under 2 hours. I have tested snapping and unsnapping them as well as cutting them with my 12" miter saw and I have no doubt that I will do it in that time frame. 2 Hours vs. 2+ weekends sounds pretty darn good to me. More time to watch College Football or putz around the garage instead of having to work on my hands and knees.
My floors should arrive Friday and I will be putting them down on Saturday. As soon as I have some pictures to post I will do so to let everyone know how it turned out with my new tiles and some new black and silver cabinets that I just bought from Sears (Craftsman Evolve Series).
Hope this info can help others out there like me save a good bit of money if you were buying RaceDeck!
Thanks again Jennifer and Snaplock!!!!
You folks are great to work with!!!!
