Hi everyone, my names Paul, I'm 28 and from England in the UK and I love garages
Me and my wife bought our bungalow 5 years ago and it has a good sized single attached garage. It's always been my dream to have a double garage (which may seem daft to you guys in the US, but in the UK your lucky if you get a single garage that can even fit a small car in!) anyway we bought the house knowing it had the land to do something with in the future.
5 years later and the build has started!! I'm doing everything myself with the help of my dad to keep costs down.
Plans:
I am keeping the wall in between the garages but removing the door at the back so I can freely walk between both sides. I want to refresh the existing side with new paint and tidy it up. This will be used to store my skoda fabia and all my car gear. The new side will be painted white with lots of lighting and nothing kept in there other than my skoda Octavia. I will be using this side for detailing/paint correction (my hobby).
Existing situation:
Footings dug out by hand (110cm deep and 45cm wide):
Filled with concrete:
Brickwork started (last weekend):
It's took me about 2 months to get this far. My aim is to have it finished sometime in August, funds permitting. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress.
