I haven't found evidence of anything quite like my latest find, so I wanted to show it off. A brand new, sealed in the original box Craftsman roundtop grinder. It was in a hoard and the guy who cleaned up just wanted to get a couple of bucks for it. The stamps on the cardboard and paper tag tells me it's around 1962-3 manufacture.

Still has the original for sale tag hanging on it.

Shipped to a Sears store around the corner from the hospital that my oldest brother was born at in 1969. My dad was in graduate school at Texas A&M at the time.

Shipper's tracking sticker from some move:

Don't want to open it, but want to know what's inside! A mirror and flashlight let me see a bit through the carry handle on the side, then flipped the image.

Don't have a plan for it (probably go on eBay), but if anyone wants it for your collection, send me a PM.

Nice find!! The box is in incredible shape. I found one with original box, instructions, manual etc and sold it to cajunfirehawk a couple months ago. He's a good buyer and the transaction went very smoothly

Holy ****! That is nice. I can't imagine the excitement of finding that. For sure that is a collector item and needs to not be used. Hope it goes to a great home! I am really digging the crown top box

Thanks guys!! I didn't mean to suggest I got it for $5 or anything- the seller just wanted some quick cash, even though he knew it was worth more than the crisp $100 bill I gave him for it. Would've been even better for $20 or something, but I was fine with giving him his asking price.

I've already got 3 Baldors that I use in my shop (well, one is down right now), so I definitely don't need this one for use. I'm sure there is someone out there that would love to put this on their shelf as part of a collection!

Cool find, and I know having the box, and unopened at that is huge in lots of collectibles. For a grinder, how much more is it worth unopened, than just mint in box with papers?

All three were opened but none were ever used, I have a 4th one I bought was sitting in a mans living room on a Cm pedestal (bought it too) and it too was never used...I really should move on TXNinAZ's block, never noticed it came from Biloxi, I am like 20 miles away from there

To me it would be no use in the box, therefor I would put it up on ebay and use the funds to purchase something that I could use.

FYI I have 2 of the 1/3 hp, 2 1/4 hp 1 1/2 hp in that style and a newer 3/4 hp all are users if needed, only have the 2 1/3 hp on stands and one of 1/4 hp is reserved for sharping tungsten so I am a collector but only of tools that I can use, no shelf queens.

Ignore the haters , your post was not an ad.... Nothing wrong with selling your find for a profit

Thanks! I was just concerned with forum etiquette- I am a profiteer on this one and don't really care if some people disapprove. I buy a lot of keepers, but this was bought with the intention of flipping it over for cash to spend on welding supplies and machine tooling.

No worries... I think you are fine because you just started a post to show us something we are interested in. Also you did not divulge a price or your intentions to sell until people asked. I think someone on here will buy it off the bay and at least you gave us a heads up to be able to get in on it...just my 2cents
