what is the need for so many standard length ratchets???

I would focus on getting one of every style before getting doubles

Huh, I never really thought about taking the time to pull all my ratchets and breaker bars out of my tool Boxes and laying them out to snap a photo. Is this something every body does?

They are in my box. The carpet does a really good job shadowing. Almost like foam.Hence the reason they are so neat.

obsessed? I don't see anything to obsessive in the picture. I do see a half carpeted drawer. Obsession would be "wall to wall" Berber carpet. That's just normal plush carpet, and some "unfinished floor."

This thread makes me want to count my ratchets. If I kept all that I buy, I might be at crazy levels. But, I sell most to finance the few that I do keep. That's how po' folk roll.:lol_hitti

You don't want me to post a picture where I have 13 of the same ratchets... or 10 of another type... I have a true problem and it is getting worse i might lose my girlfriend over my tool problem, but I have decided the tools were here before her and will be here after she leaves. I think I am over the 100 mark for sure and at least 50 of them are snap on.

Some might say it becomes obsession when one is shining, displaying, photographing and posting more often about one's tool collection than using the tools.

Most here will say it is only sound judgment to realize how inexpensively one can have the perfect tool for any and every conceivable need and spares for the inevitable loss, damage, theft or wear.

thnx, jack vines

The ratchet gets longer and shorter and the head articulates and locks into position. I had to warranty the first after it stripped under almost no torque. This one has taken a beating in it's short life though.

Hell that's not obsessive. This drawer is just my 3/8"drs at work.I have another for 1/2" and the 1/4" are in another. Not including the bottom drawer that the overflow gets put in.Oh,did I mention I also have two roller boxes at home with another bunch in there. And I don't have anywhere near the collection that Powderkeg or Moparhound or 48548 have lol.

You have a lot of nice stuff there... A nice drawer to be proud of... Moparhound is King when it comes to ratchets.... I want to see 1/2 and 1/4.

You haven't the problem I have, hahaha, I wish I had your problem, because I could use more sockets, but can't buy them as I want more ratchets and extensions.

Nah, I'd classify you as "barely aware" right now :lol_hitti

Hit 50 and I'd say you're "showing interest"...

100 would get you to "enthusiastic"...

150 and it's a "fascination"...

200 shows signs of a "preoccupation"...

250 would be an obsess.... er, a "collection"...

And 300+?, well, I'll let you know when I get there (soon), but I'm afraid the boys with the fancy white suitcoat, looooong sleeves, and lotsa silver buckles will be waiting around that corner... Then again, if Mopar is still on the loose, I'll be safe for a good while...

what is the obsession?
the number of ratchets?
how you organize them?
that you have them living in the lap of luxury?
